ShanS
I really hated Jadeja as a player before the Oval match. I always thought that why is this guy playing in the XI.. can't clear the boundary when it's required or bowling too many boundary balls when team needs dot balls, things like that. But the way he performed at Oval with both bat and ball, that too after landing in England on the match eve, has to be appreciated. :hatsoff: Now I can't say that I hate him as a player, but I'll remain skeptical till he plays few more games and performs, which I hope he does. India does need a good allrounder. Link to comment
Sachinism
Always felt he was a handy ODI bowler, but at times when he got it wrong, he got it really wrong, didn't know how to deal with the attacking batsman. Not sure how much he's improved that by, but hopefully those performances are few and far inbetween. His batting was very limited before, now he has a bit more strength which will help him in piercing gaps. Link to comment
J P K
he chokes in pressure situation his fielding bowling batting everything goes down when the team is under pressure it is risky to have him Link to comment
VRV Singh
I have always supported him and backed him against the detractors, based on mostly simple logic. Reactions like these after a good innings or bowling performance are a bit sad though. The nature of bringing young players in is that they will have poor games mixed in with encouraging ones. This is why the hate after some poor ones early on was so absurd. The raw facts are - and generally always have been - he is a young, athletic cricketer with great qualities that everyone agrees we lack in the team. You don't hate on or bin players like that after a bad spell. Much like opinions shouldn't swing so much after a good game. Just have patience and don't be so rash when players like him aren't so good (e.g. his bowling yesterday) Link to comment
Cricket Tragic
Jaddu is a decent limited overs bowler, bowls nice darts, overall a street smart bowler. But batting at no.7 will always remain a question mark.It was good to see him playing a superb innings at Oval on a testing pitch but still the situation was such which he favours, where he doesnt have to go berserk from ball one.His batting test at no.7 will come when he comes up against situations (like Asia cup match vs Pak last year) and if he succeeds in those kinds of situation too, then there will be no question marks against him. kabira
No. 7 is not for him. I will put him at number 5, Dhoni at 6 and Raina at 7. Link to comment

rahulrulezz
Hahaha typical Indian fans. One above average innings n he is our specialist ODi. Jadeja is not a matchwinning player. If India with a billion people is playing with 7 batsmen, then each n every batsmen shud be able to put fear in opposition camp. I just don't see Jadeja winning a match on it's own. Number 7 batting position is very important position n Jadeja just doesn't have that thing in him to succed. Even Bhajji is better cricketer to play at 7 than Jadeja. It's a shame that an ordinary cricketer is playing for India out of 1.2 billion. Jadeja is only good for those useless knocks where the total is not good enough. Proven by the fact that even though he averages 36, his highest score in a winning total is 25. Shows how he doesn't play according to the situations. Link to comment
ShebbySB
Jadeja is a far improved player right now,he along with a fit & strong Irfan can give us immense depth in our batting. But both need to deliver with the ball, specially Irfan. Link to comment
urbestfriend
Also lets not forget that he is actually a young talented kid in cricket terms. He is only 22! Some could argue a rare talent at that age as he is so skilled in all depts as an all rounder. Now take a deep breath ICF. As being such an all rounder at the age of 22, he could even be a future test match player:--D There I said it, now hammer me:cantstop: http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=199622 :headshake: Link to comment
Trichromatic
He won't be good at no 7. Needs to bat at 4,5 or 6. Link to comment
WC2011INDIA
I agree that Jadeja isn't a match winner with the bat. He is the type of player that can hang in at the crease for a long time if we lose quick 5 wickets in the first 30 overs or so. However, if he is sent in to bat at #7 in the 40th over or so with 5 wickets down, then we are screwed i.e. he is slow and does not have the firepower to accelerate the run rate. Link to comment

Exactly and will take us to those useless 220-230 scores which r nothing on most pitches. So often we have seen him scoring useless 50s n India loosing the match He can never help India winning a match on his own which shud be chracterstic of an ODi batsman Link to comment

King Tendulkar
A lot of people saying he bats like this etc etc and giving examples of 1 year back. The point is he has improved massivley and will still do. He is 22 for gods sake. We are so quick to pidgeon hole young talents, negating the fact that they improve massivley and change in so many ways. Link to comment
