Lurker
Serious problems with odi against SA tommorow. As 7 players down with flu and heavy colds. No serious illnesses but most likely to miss game. Isn't it interesting how if the roles were revversed - English players getting sick in India - that would have almost immediately invoked a brouhaha about bad facilities/sanitation etc?? Indeed when England players tour India they end up with an upset stomach, so much so that a new term was coined for it , Delhi Belly. x Link to comment

King Tendulkar
helloo.. its dhoni, agarkar and sreesanth who are unlikely to play.. nowhere in the news was it mentioned abt sachinnnn.. hello ... check this report out. you can apologise if you like now:confused_smile: --------------------- MUMBAI, June 25: Pacemen Ranadeb Bose and Ishant Sharma will join the Indian cricket team in Ireland as cover for the sick and injured players for the three-match One-day series against South Africa which starts on Tuesday. The decision to send the two pacers was taken since many players have fallen ill duo to cold conditions in Ireland, selection committee chairman Dilip Vengsarkar said. While their exact travel plans are not known, the duo have been asked to rush Ireland, considering the fact that at least six to seven players in the team are down with cold and viral fever. India is scheduled to play the first of the three ODIs against South Africa tomorrow but they might find it difficult to field 11 fit players. The sudden change in climatic conditions has hit the Indian dressing room hard. Mahendra Singh Dhoni missed the first match against Ireland because of viral fever while the likes of RP Singh, Piyush Chawla, Robin Uthappa, Ajit Agarkar and Ramesh Powar have also fallen prey to the cold conditions. Sachin Tendulkar too seemed to be affected, albeit slightly. The players are finding it difficult to acclimatise as they have travelled from the searing heat of around 45 degrees in India to the biting cold of 13-15 degrees in Ireland. Both Bose and Ishant were picked for India's Test squad against England which begins on July 19. After the series against South Africa, the Indians will play a one-off match against Pakistan in Scotland and then travel to England to play three Tests and seven One-dayers. Link to comment

King
I'm glad we will get to see some youngsters play these needless ODIs. It was stupid to get the likes of Tendulkar, Ganguly and Rahul to visit Ireland for 5 ODIs. Lest the young ones will have some good time touring while the oldies can more time at home. Chandan
Now Arjun Yadav is also sent..Why so many replacements? Are we playing the all important series of Ind-SA World series India nine down, and the match hasn’t even begun Flu and fever has wiped out the artillery, the pace attack: R.P. Singh, S. Sreesanth and Ajit Agarkar are unfit for combat; Zaheer Khan, yet to recover fully from a groin injury, now has flu to deal with too. Dravid himself does not look quite well. Ramesh Powar, Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa and M.S. Dhoni are also down. So you see Coffee, why we need so many replacements? Link to comment
zubinpepsi
WHO ? Arjun Yadav, the 25-year old allrounder, has been asked to join the Indian team which is caught in a flu-related illness crisis. Yadav was playing for Eglinton in the Irish leagues, when he received the call-up. He joins Rakesh Patel, Ranadeb Bose and Ishant Sharma, who have all been given emergency call-ups by the team management. Yadav, who is the son of former India offspinner Shivlal Yadav, was the captain of Hyderabad in the last Ranji season. He has scored 829 runs at an average of 19.27 in 47 List A (domestic one-day) matches. He has also taken six wickets with his part-time offspin. ---- tht was quite an impessive average .... Link to comment
coffee_rules
Son of Shivlal yadav, who was a selector in the recent past..I am not surprised. Link to comment
