Magneto
Drop Weenie Kumar and get Ojha in. Maybe even drop Ishant and get Ashwin in. Try Rahane for Sehwag, Saha for Dhoni and Rohit for Laxman. Advantages: a) Dhoni will not suffer the ignominy of being the ONLY Indian Test captain to lose 8 overseas Tests on the trot, and suffer two whitewashes. b)We'll see what Rahane and Rohit are capable of c) Sehwag and Dhoni can sort out their apparent rift in go-carting sessions d) Give Saha a game (rather than keeping him on the bench infinitely) and see how he does Make Gambhir or Zak the captain. Future plans: a) Give Laxman a couple of farewell Tests at home and let him retire gracefully and respectably Give Dravid a respectable series farewell in the next series. c) Gambhir to be considered for Test captaincy for the next few years. RECONSTRUCT. Link to comment
Needforspeed
^ good ideas, but not likely to happen. Dhoni always persists with the same combination-win or lose. Can happen only if someone higher up in the Board or selection committee directly intervenes. Nothing to lose scenario...I agree we should experiment. Link to comment
tothepoint
And Sachin as well. To hell with his 100th 100. But nothing is going to happen. Link to comment
Cricketics
Actually not a bad idea. Gambhir Rahane Dravid Tendulkar Laxman Rohit Virat Ojha Zaheer Ishant Yadav Link to comment
Ponka
Good Idea but Ponka would drop Tendulkar, Laxman and Dravid. Drop all of the big 3 and try someone new. Not sure about Dhoni. If he's banned for next game than make Kohli captain or Gambhir captain. Fly someone from India, damn care about the result. Link to comment
Magneto
I seriously want to see whether a new Captain can make any difference. It's better (for the future) and less heartbreaking to see a new team fight it out and lose rather than our maharathis surrender meekly. Nothing to lose, anyway. I would also see want to see Laxman and Dravid go out in a blaze of glory at home (and not dropped) for all they have done for Indian cricket. Link to comment
Needforspeed
I think a young fresh team would give more fight to the Aussies than this team. At least we will see some energy in the field. Link to comment
Magneto
And Sachin as well. To hell with his 100th 100. But nothing is going to happen. But Sachin is looking in fine touch and has scored more than any other cricketer. He should play as long as form prevails. Link to comment

Abey bhai when they performed they were raised on shoulders. When they are a baggage they should themselves retire gracefully. They might perform in India but thats not a solution. Give them a great home, money and what not but please don't put them in cricket field. Thousands of youngsters are waiting for their chance in India. Link to comment

They were no baggage in the last home series, and helped us win the series. Link to comment

India-KXIP fan
5 years ago Tendulkar was out of form and changed his playing style and suceeded. Sehwag cannot change his game. His natural hand eye coordination is decreasing as he ages and he never really had footwork. Sehwag should retire soon like the fab 3. Link to comment

Steve Waugh got a farewell. Even Inzimam and Ganguly got one. Slater, Blewett and Martyn HAVE DONE NOTHING IN COMPARISON TO what Dravid and Laxman have done for Indian cricket. And they'll still score pretty heavily at home. Our cricketers make our teams, and the least we can do is to respect them for their contributions. They DESERVE a farewell and a smooth exit. adi B
Actually not a bad idea. here's my team for Adelaide if Laxman is retiring. GambhirĀ© Rahane Dravid Tendulkar Rohit Virat saha ashwin Zaheer Ishant Yadav corrected ojha wil get smashed for sure, in aussie pitches his balls will be no less than darts, he doesnt spin the ball, will get thrashed the same way in the practice game, ashwin is the only batsman in the lower middle order Link to comment

Ojha did well in county cricket where Swan for 3 tests and Harbhajan for 2 struggled. Also spinners averages in England is poor over the last decade. Conditions are similar in Aus and Eng. Ashwin deserves more chances for now though Link to comment
