Spiderguy252
Kallis = Underrated and a legend. I agree with Ganguly. I posted about this in my blog a few days ago, actually: http://thebackfoot.wordpress.com/2012/01/05/the-best-player-of-all-time/ Link to comment
ZodiaC
What? He said Kallis is overall more handy, or along that lines, i.e. he would pick Kallis first, then Tendiya, Dravid RP in that order. Link to comment
Crookbond
The angles that he bowls with will make sure that he'll never get too many wickets regardless of how 'well' he bowls. Its not luck. The best that we can hope from his is to keep the runs down when he's bowling well which he does every now and again. Not sure about that. A lot of successful bowlers have bowled with such angles and reaped high rewards. IMO, he's got to be full in length and have subtle variations (which can be achieved from the same angle). I also don't think he uses the bouncer to good effect. Link to comment
Crookbond
Seriously it's shocking. We all know the stereotype "Indians can't field" etc etc, but that's traditionally been seen as a result of having an older team. Today though, the worst fielders by far have been younger guys like Yadav and Ashwin. Sharma is only 23 and he fields like an 80 year old! It's only compounded when VVS/Sehwag are forced out of the slips (good catchers but terrible ground fielders). Does Indian even have a fielding coach? If so, what the hell is he doing? Pray, what can a coach do if the fielders are languid? It's time to make a simple policy, just like Bob Simpson did for Australia in the 90s, field good or stay out. Link to comment
BERGKAMP
it's not hard to field well. you just need to get in shape and have some desire. both of which this team has none of. Link to comment

Mariyam
Aussie Humour Seriously it's shocking. Seriously, its shocking. We all know the stereotype " Aussies have no sense of humour" etc etc but that's traditionally been seen as a result of being direct descendents of the Brits. One would have thought that mass immigration from Asia and Eastern Europe would change that. Today though, the worst jokes by far have been by the newbies. Dhonuts is not even 100 posts old and he makes even the oldie Aussies look funny. Its only compounded when Aussie-r-best and Special K add to the mix. :P Does Australia even have a humour coach? If so, what the hell is he doing? Link to comment
bharat297
Im one of the biggest Sachin fans of all time but if you look at effectiveness as a player ... Batting, Bowling and fielding ... Kallis sits at the top of the list of all time greats. Link to comment
TheWall
... and Dhoni, Azhar better captain than Gangooly.. Link to comment

This wide of the crease angle takes away lots of options...outswing is hard to achieve as well which is the best wicket taking delivery for a pacer, LBWs are hard to get, bowling on the stumps mean giving a huge angle to work down leg. That is the reason I rated Pattinson higher than Cummins while most Aussies think other wise. Pattinson bowls close to the stumps while Cummins stays wide of the crease but cummins has better seam position than what Ishant has right now which is his biggest enemy at this time in not moving the ball much after pitching and in the air. akshayxyz
whatever your formula is - here is one simple test case. Use it to predict SRT, Ponting, Kallis, Dravid, and few more regulars' (who debuted in 90s) tally - what it would have been today, based on their numbers until 2007/2008. And compare them with actual numbers today. w/o that your formula is as good as legendary RPT (search ICF, or ask people around). Link to comment
