The Outsider
Just beggars belief. First ball of possibly the last over of the day easy single to be taken and he refuses to run. WTF!! How are such sheningans tolerated in the team? Link to comment
Ram
Relax.. theres gotto be some other reason to it... he wouldnt refuse such obvious singles like that... Link to comment
yoda
may be he was protecting the more important wicket. :giggle: Link to comment
Predator_05
So he is cutting out risk. What is the big deal with that ? It's not like he is scoring slowly or playing out time. He has played attacking cricket throughout the day, scoring briskly and keeping the scoreboard ticking. I wish the other losers in the Indian batting lineup played with his attitude. Link to comment

And letting a 21 year old in his 4th test as a specialist batsman take the risk? Waah!! Link to comment
Ram
What other reason besides him wanting Karthik to face the last over? Maybe he misjudged how far the ball went away from Prior.. or couldnt say for sure how fast prior would get to the ball. And he took a single of the 4th ball anyway.. so , there goes your allegation. Vaughan had placed the fielder so that the single would be there. Link to comment
SightForTheGods
Leave him alone...currently he is cutting all risks and keeping the team alive Link to comment

Predator_05
Here you have a good Indian batsman who has played very good cricket, is currently on 36 off 56 balls and the only thing you want to talk about is his refusal to run one bloody single ? Link to comment

Dhondy
..is great. Has been India's best batsman in SA and hitherto in England. I can take his idiosyncracies if he guts it out and puts runs on the board. Let's not get worked up over such piffling matters. Link to comment

Bumper
All though its a -ve attitude ... given the situation I would much rather KKD face than the "Prince" of Kolkotta. But I agree this is not how a Test match is won. Gee, that would have to be the most optimistic post on this team, i've read in a while. Who's trying to win this test match ? :D Link to comment
The Outsider
Ganguly has been batting well since his return. Did I say anything to contradict that? But this kind of attitude is the definition of chuti*apanti. Link to comment
Bumper
But agreed on the OP. The best way to approach such an uphill task is by shocking the opponents, there is no better shock in cricket, than Ganguly sprinting for an easy single. Link to comment

kabira
who knows he was not comfortable facing the bowler, you bat as a pair, so if KKD was comfortable he should face the last over. he was hit on gloves so may be wanted to rest at non strikers end. But nobody can deny concentration and focus on Ganguly's face when he is facing the bowling..The look says it all.. I mean business. Link to comment
