Jersey #10
Installed it last night but haven't used it. It took me some 5 hours to fully install it so I went to sleep and woke up around 2am to find that it had been installed. Used it for like 2 minutes at 2 am. Is there a way of going back to Windows 7? Not that I want to but just for information
b555
wtf man? 5 hours? you must be kidding me it took me 15 min to install and then 10 min of housekeeping and i was looking at my win 8 login screen! seriously 5 hrs is :WTF:
Jersey #10
^first it took about an hour for it to download. Then while installing, I had some unsupported software to delete. This made the computer restart several times. Then the installing was taking forever so I went to sleep. I was awake for at least 3 hours of all this so it was def. not 25 minutes as you are suggesting.
Jersey #10
Talking of the product windows 8, it's disappointing. The simplest way of describing it is - The same old **** topped with apple sauce" I hope it grows on me but so far, it's nothing to fap over. NeutralCat
I hate it can't do anything on it, I installed it and went back to Windows 7 pretty quickly.
akshayxyz
As it has always been with alternate windows versions...this is going to be flop - since win7 was relatively successful ( as compared to Vista).
Clarke
Is there no way to install it besides Win7 on a separate partition ? What's the going back and forth being mentioned here ?

Clarke
^^ Well yeah, but that's not what some people seem to be doing here. What if something goes wrong during install/rollback ?
punjabi_khota
I heard Win 8 is kinect capable. As in you can do desktop operations by moving your hands etc in the air if you have the hardware :hmmm:
ViruRulez
Testing out for the last few days. Was also using the developer preview earlier. Looks cool though I have faced one system hang up till now. Overall stable and quite cool. However, I am still missing the start menu. I am not sure the start screen can replace the start menu for a traditional PC. Start screen suits tablets more than PCs. ViruRulez
That MS's unique way of branding and claiming ownership of the product. Still light years ahead of the overhyped and overpriced Apple products. :winky: And it is still a beta release. However, I personally like Windows 7 more than Windows 8 at least for PCs. Tablets might be a different ball game altogether.
