Hyderabadis to miss Sachin and Dhoni during IPL matches

Will the fifth edition of the IPL matches turn out to be a lacklustre affair in Hyderabad? It appears so! It's not just the scorching heat, but also shifting of two of the best matches which were to be played in Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam now. That means, Hyderabadi fans will not get to see the cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Mahendra Singh Dhoni wield the willow in Hyderabad. Matches featuring Mumbai Indians led by Sachin and Chennai Super Kings led by Dhoni, will be held in Visakhapatnam. Hyderabad city will get to witness only four matches unlike in the past when it used to host at least seven games. Looks like Hyderabad's loss is surely Vizag's gain. When it comes to popularity, not many in the world of cricket can match ‘Bengal Tiger' Saurav Ganguly, now leading Pune Warriors. When he played at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium last time, a die-hard fan ran onto the field to touch the Dada's feet! Ironically, even the Warriors match which was originally scheduled to be held in the city is now shifted out of the city. The only consolation is that the Delhi Daredevils featuring the big guns like David Warner and Virender Sehwag will be playing here. Unhappy fans “We were desperate to see Sachin in action, especially after his phenomenal feat of 100 international century. It is a pity that he will not be here,” says G. Venkatesh, an advocate and who played HCA league cricket. In fact, a section of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) officials are also not really enthusiastic in hosting even these four matches given the backdrop of the fact that the HCA had to pay Rs. 75 lakh to Visaka Industries to “protect its commercial interests” for helping HCA in constructing the stadium. “We are not sure of big crowds this time given this schedule. The canopy (roofing) work is also going on at the stadium, reducing the seating capacity,” says another official. There is also a growing sense of insecurity as to what dimension the pro-Telangana agitation takes up in the days to come as Hyderabad is hosting one match in mid-April and the remaining three IPL matches in May.

apart from guys like duminy and steyn they dont have an impact player. They are led by Cameron white who nowadays cant even break into his National team. But I dont think its weak because lack of quality foreign players but more so because of Lack of Quality locals. Remember, you can play 7 locals as opposed to 4 foreigners...so if your locals are pathetic as in this case you are gonna lose most of the matches Others teams have plenty of quality locals esp. MI and CSK, DC dont!
