express bowling Posted May 17, 2012 Share Posted May 17, 2012 DD vs. RCB Yadav --- fastest 148.8 k, lots of deliveries between 144 k and 147.5 k. He actually bowled much better than he normally does, with lesser width and very few half-trackers, swung the new ball, but the combination of CG tornado and a flat pitch made his bowling figures sad to look at. Aaron -- fastest 149.6 k, lots of deliveries between 144 k and 147.5 k. He also bowled decently with little width and quite a few yorkers. I don't think a single faster delivery was bowled below 140 k by either pacer in this match. These 2 pacers can bowl some 145 k + deliveries, even when they are returning from injury or are bowling within themselves. That is the sign of out and out fast bowlers. It is by --- whether he has pitched the ball in the right areas, moved the ball, bowl with effort, gave little width, bowled yorkers and slower balls when required etc. The question is whether deliveries appropriate to the situation were bowled ? Anybody can go for runs in a T20 match on a flat track. Even DD almost chased the runs . p.s -- Umesh actually bowls badly quite often -- today was not one of those days of his bad bowling. MCcricket Posted May 18, 2012 Share Posted May 18, 2012 Both Umesh , Aaron bowled close to 150 k's although were taken for runs but they will learn, Awana impressed me the most though, bowled close to 140's with some deliveries in mid 140's, hurrying the batsmen, moving the ball beautifully and in a channel outside off, also getting great bounce.Selectors should seriously look at him for ODI'S, TEST'S, T20'S. Awana seems to be bowling with better rhythm and slightly better action, getting more zip and seam, definetly now India has firepower among rookies Umesh, Aaron, Awana, and along with Ishant, Zak, this can be a potent bowling attack, only if selectors and Dhoni wake up and move away from the VK'S and PK'S. That is what happened. It wasnt like Pathan who was muscled in the crowd for three sixes in an our. When Gayle flays his bat even edges lands in crowd. This pitch was really docile.
