i vill put the names and i can guarantee that the lineup, barring injury, will most likely be: sehwag gambhir kohli rohit raina dhoni irfan ashwin rahul umesh some other bowler jadeja will still be part of the squad, yusuf wont make it because of his sucky IPL. i'm not against picking jadeja, he is a great fielder and his bowling can be good on surfaces that turn since this one is in sri lanka, it should be a pretty competitive team and the timing helps as well because it isn't right after the IPL. good fielding unit as well, probably the best one if you put jadeja in there. that 'some other bowler' could be a weak link the guy that really holds india back is dhoni. he sucks as a t20 batsman, cant do what he does in odis because he takes too long to get set. unfortunately, CSK cheeka likes to hold dhoni's nuts in his mouth, so there is zero chance of him being dropped. we basically need to hope that dhoni doesnt screw anything up with his batting and that the top order keeps him out of the game

expectations will be really low, and thats fair enuff cos india have sucked at t20 since 2009 but i really think that team has a good chance. the tournament isnt being played right after the IPL, its in september (ala 2007) so thats favourable and the team has a powerful batting lineup and a quality fielding unit. if gambhir or somebody other than bhoni was captain, i'd be seriously confident

The probable team: 1.Sehwag 2.Gauti 3.Virat 4.Rohit 5.Raina 6.Msd 7.Wannabe allrounder 8.Shi!e spinner 9.Trundler1 10.Trundler2 11.Trundler 3 Now why dont we eliminate the 'allrounder' and play Rahane at 3?

India's Chances in T20 Worldcup 2012 - What do you guys think about our chances in this year's T20 Worldcup. Things in our Favour -: - Subcontinent Conditions - Dhoni's Captaincy - In form batsmen. - New Found Pace Talent of Umesh Yadav, backed by Zack, Ashwin, Rahul Sharma. - Good Fielding Unit. - Possible Return of Yuvi could be a boost, though we have a good replacement available in Rohit. - Reasonably easy Group Fixtures. - Exit of Ravindra Jadeja. Things to watch out for -: - Team Tussle, Dhoni vs Sehwag. - Team Selection, keep away with the likes of Vinay & Jadega. - Possible Threats are Saffers & Aussies. - Complacency.

Of late we have been crap in T20. Selectors pick the same side which plays in 50 overs ODI and they play in the same way. The best way forward is to select a team based purely on IPL performance.

Super eights is all we can achieve, may be semis if our superstars click on those favourable conditions. I would be pleasantly surprised if we manage to get into the finals.

If the t20 b/w Pak and SL were anything to go by. Our batters might struggle as well. We might win a game in Super 6 this time at least but don't see us in top 4. Aus, SA, Eng, Pak/WI.

it all depends on the bowling line up we play, if yadav, aaron, dinda, zak, ojha, ashwin are selected i think we will do well....if guys like koomars, useless, jadeja are selected nd played, then forget reaching the semis..batting ,i dont think is a problem in lankan pitches..but u never know, many players in our batting line up have the caliber to brainfart

Rahul Sharma, P.Ojha, Vinay Kumar and Zaheer Khan should be replaced by Amit Mishra, Iqbal Abdulla, Awana and Balaji. Manoj Tiwary should not play. Try to give chances to at least two new batsmen among Umukt Chand, Mandeep Singh, Rayadu etc. Maybe even keep Kohli out. It would be a pleasant surprise if India make it to the Semis even.

Why give youngsters chances. We wanna win the world cup. Full strength team should go, youngsters won't learn much in a T20 WC anyway. It would be a pleasant surprise if they don't reach the final, team is strong for SC pitches.

Its not a question of giving chance to youngsters. These are guys who have done much better than the 'seniors' in IPL 2012. Among bowlers Rahul Sharma, Zaheer Khan and Vinay Kumar were carted around for a lot of runs. Balaji had the best economy rate among Indian bowlers in IPL. Amit Mishra was the most impressive Indian spinner on show and Awana was also impressive. Dinda and Umesh Yadav too did well overall in the IPL.

Dhoni's passive captaincy and continued love for trundlers will ensure another early exit - just look back at the last two T20 WCs and the performances have been dreadful. The batting will have to click every game and even that is not likely to be enough when the bowling just bleeds runs.

Will be very lucky to reach the semis. More than anything, the ego tussle in the team will sink us like it did in the 2009 t20 WC. Also, I see no point in MSD continuing to lead our t20 side any longer. Under him, we failed to go past the 1st round in the last two events. Surely that calls for a change of leader. In fact, except us, most teams will have a new skipper for this event , . England - Collingwood out, Broad in South Africa- Smith out, ABDV in Pakistan- Afridi out, Hafeez in Australia - Clrake out, Watson/Warner/White in Sri Lanka - Sanga out, Mahela in West Indies- Gayel out, Sammy in NZ- Vettori out, Taylor in BD- Shakib out, Mushfiqur in Dhoni is perhaps the only captain in the history to have survived two first round exits in a multi team event (and not to forget two 4-0 test whitewashes).

Agree that need to start looking beyond Dhoni for the captaincy as he is coming to the end of his captaincy cycle as the list above proves. The T20 format is a great chance to start trying out other potential captains as most other countries seem to do – persisting with Dhoni with his dreadful recent record just seems pointless.

In addition at the recently finished Euro football championships most coaches who were in charge of teams that underachieved were either sacked or resigned yet there is a certain useless coach by the name of Duncan Fletcher who somehow is still here

We hold the premier T20 league in the world that gives 7 weeks of proper exposure to the best of our talent. The Indians (Mumbai or otherwise) shall not only beat other teams but smash them. Defeating teams by 8-10 wickets or 100+ runs shall be normal. What's more, this IPL inspired reign is just starting, Indians shall go from strength to strength because of the amazing reserves.
