I know the year isn't complete as yet and there still remains a test match to go but we pretty much have the core number of players that can be short listed for International Indian cricketer of the year 2006. Here are the options of the poll. If you want to nominate someone that is not in the list already please let us know. This poll will run for the next 15 days. We will run another such poll for the domestic Indian cricketer of the year as well shortly. Re: Poll : Indian cricketer of the year 2006 Only Rahul Dravid and Kaif averaged over 60 in this calendar year :chin: Rahul scored the most 100s for India i.e 3 of them. Anil Kumble claimed over 50 wickets although his average isn't too flashy (probably due to the dead pitches in Pakistan). Sreesanth was the second highest wicket taker in test cricket (28) closely followed by Munaf (24). Yuvraj Singh ruled the roost in the ODI format for India. Yuvraj Singh averaged over 53.06 at a strike rate of 88 scoring 5 100s and 5 50s. Tendulkar continued his purple patch in ODIs with the highest average for India (44.85) followed by Dhoni (41.05). Tendulkar's strike rate has dipped since the last year. Rahul Dravid's ODI form has been less than his career average (nearly 36). Kaif, Raina and Sehwag despite a long rope has hardly done anything noteworthy in the ODI format.
