Not just India, good spin/slow bowlers is the way to go in T20 anywhere in the world. Good point...If not for auctions how does any team get rid of useless players...Or some players who are OK to be in some team, but on present form are way too overvalued. Saurabh Tiwary and Yusuf Pathan are examples of players who were bid based on past performances which they could not replicate subsequently. Auctions take care of the market dynamics. Then once 3 years finished...the existing franchise should have the 1st rights to renogociate another contract for 3 years with that player.
