CSK Fan
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Champions_League_Twenty20 I thought MI and RCB had to go through the qualifiers.
Crookbond
I still think they have to. :hmmmm:
Crookbond
The references links to a Mid Day story [1]. I don't think the wiki is correct. The article itself reads New IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders, runners-up Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Daredevils are the teams confirmed participants for this year's CLT20. So Mumbai Indians will definitely have to go into the qualifiers. I'm not sure about Royal Challengers Bangalore. I don't think they will get a chance. bulbul
that was wrong...they mentioned 8 teams in CL 4 India + 2 oz + 1 SA and 1 Paki [guess in rediff i read that]
CSK Fan
I think this is similar to the news about CSK making it to the finals. They accodently leaked the results, MI are going to be in and RCB out of the qualifiers
Sidhoni
WTF! Why RCB! They finished 5th! MI will have to go through qualifiers.
1983-2011
RCB finished fifth, they should be nowhere near CLT20, MI won it last year so they should get a direct entry without playing qualifiers
Zap_Brannigan
RCB finished fifth' date=' they should be nowhere near CLT20, MI won it last year so they should get a direct entry without playing qualifiers[/quote'] Thats not how this works.

Zap_Brannigan
yeah I know but RCB will not be in qualifiers this season though It shouldn't be. The story doesnt make sense. The tournament might happen in SA, yet they are reducing SA team from 2 to 1?
ganeshran
More IPL teams is the only way to make money for CLT20. Its a flop show from the beginning and ESPN is losing a lot of money over it.
bulbul
yeah I know but RCB will not be in qualifiers this season though why will RCB in qualifications? 3 direct qualification 1 thru another set of qualification
Zap_Brannigan
More IPL teams is the only way to make money for CLT20. Its a flop show from the beginning and ESPN is losing a lot of money over it. They shouldn't have bid an insane amount for the rights. They panicked when they lost Indian home game rights and the IPL rights.

CSK Fan
why will RCB in qualifications? 3 direct qualification 1 thru another set of qualification The 1 was supposed to be decided in the qualifications between RCB and MI. Only one would have gone through. Remember last time?
bulbul
The 1 was supposed to be decided in the qualifications between RCB and MI. Only one would have gone through. Remember last time? No last time 3 direct - RCB,MI and CSK 1 qualification - KKR you are talking about 2010...then its only 3 teams [no separate qualification round like last year] in 2010 RCB beat DC to go along with MI and CSK
vamos_rafa
They shouldn't have bid an insane amount for the rights. They panicked when they lost Indian home game rights and the IPL rights. The irony is that they have got the home game telecast rights.
