Ultimate_Game
But at least he does not wait for the first slip to take a keeper's catch. Maybe not but what I have seen of him I wasn't too impressed. Out of all the keepers I have seen Dinesh Karthik is still the best choice after Dhoni. Maybe selectors need to go with a youngster like Ojha or unearth a younger wk as Saha is not the future. Link to comment
rkt.india
Saha was just like Pappu at batting. The most you could expect was score of 20s or 30s. Dinesh Karthik was better and we should be looking somewhere else. He played 2 tests and you have decided his fate. He scored 160+ in Duleep Trophy in seaming conditions just after Aus tour where all the specialist batsmen had struggled. Link to comment
Cricket Tragic
According to my Bong sources, Saha is injured. Link to comment
vvvslaxman
What about Uday Kaul. I don't see any potential in Saha. Would love to be proven wrong. Link to comment

Those may be just 2 tests but he didn't give me much confidence while batting. At least when I saw Karthik batting, even though he may have a brain fart but he did look like a batsman. I am sorry I didn't see that in Saha. Saha reminded of the likes of Ratra, More etc. who may be just about half-decent at batting but nothing more. Link to comment

Spiderguy252
Kohli wouldn'ta tonned up at Adelaide had Saha not made his patient 30 odd at the other end. Dhoni on the other hand would have made 3 or 5 and left. Loser. Link to comment

I am not arguing about batting skills - I agree that Dhoni is the best batsman I've seen among Indian wicket keepers, but Saha is just much better with the gloves. He played a couple of gritty innings in his international chances. He cannot take the game away from the opposition at 350/5 like Dhoni can, but he is as good or better at 150/5 with the bat. Dhoni on the other hand would have made 3 or 5 and left. Loser. True but Saha doesn't look like he will go beyond a 30 odd. Saha seems a very limited batsman and is more of a wk from bygone era where wk used to only keep and not expected to contribute much with the bat. Link to comment

Those days of a keeper not contributing much with the bat are gone and a wk should be a wk-batsman. Link to comment

msb1991
If Rituraj can refine his bowling action a bit, he can be a great find. Swings the ball a lot. And Naman OJha is there in place of Saha I Know because of Jagdale and Hirwani. Why Unadkat? Why not Awana or Suyal or Kulkarni? Vinay too should not have been there. There is nothing we dont already about Vinay or is a future prospect. Shami, Awana, Kulkarni, Rituraj should have been the pacers. Perhaps Awana is injured, but agree about Kulkarni and Suyal. I know he is young, but I have no idea what the obsession by the selectors over Unadkat is. He is improving and he is promising but he is not A-team standard yet. I think Vinay on the tour is a good thing. If he runs through oppositions, then surely they are not too strong. Similarly, if he holds his own alongside other pacers, then we know these pacers are not world beaters. People have to outperform him to show they are something quality (please do not misinterpret this sentence). Dunno anything about Rituraj, anyone shed some light on him? Link to comment

Dhoni has manage a duck or less than 10 mostly. What i have seen of saha he is technically better than dhoni and averages 42 in first class .He is better wicket keeper than dhoni and miles better compared to kartik and parthiv who both cannot keep to spin.He deserves a chance .Its just madness to discard him after 2 tests. Saha wasn't that better than Dhoni based on what I've seen of him. He misses chances as well and not that amazing. Dhoni is quite reliable and it's not as if he wates plenty of chances every game. Sooda
Rahane and Pujara should have been there to have more overseas experience under their belt' date=' IMO. I wouldn't have picked Ashok Menaria.[/quote'] Yeah, neither are in T20 squad and they could have gone straight after playing NZ seniors at home- Menaria did well in Ranji and EPT last year so not a bad pick, but not sure what Bist did wrong to be dropped RKT, what about Rituraj, is he a good bowler?
