Trichromatic
Sporting pitch (most likely seamer friendly) for 2nd test in Bangalore "There has been no sun for the past week. The pitch needs to dry up but we haven't had enough sunshine to make that happen," said a worried Raju, while tending to the green track and lush outfield. HT has learnt that the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) could offer the same track for the Test where the Ranji quarterfinal against Haryana was played. Then, it was a seamer's delight and Haryana paceman Harshal Patel made hay. Although Raju did not comment on the wicket, India's preference has been for a slow, turning track. But if the weather does not relent, it will be tough to get one. Hindustan Times "We have prepared a sporting wicket as we normally do for Test matches. The strip has a bit of grass and will aid seam movement," said Raju while stating that the pitch will be ready for the Test. "We have worked on the outfield, removing the thatch - the build-up of dead grass between living grass and the soil. By doing that, we have infused more oxygen into the roots," he said. "We brought sand from Andhra Pradesh to give the outfield a fresh feel." TOI Link to comment

deathmonger
Now ' date='I'm worried we can;t give them seamer friendly pitch .. NO WAY !! Please SUN come out and dry the pitch :D[/quote'] don't worry. 1. seamer friendly relative to indian pitches. nothing like oz and eng. 2. nz seamers are not good enough to bundle us out for low scores on such pitches. 3. nz batsmen are very poor. zak, yadav will make mincemeat. Ultimate_Game
WTF do they mean by "sporting" and "seam friendly" pitch? This is a home series and [itch curators & groundsmen need to be fired if they can't even prepare turning tracks which give us advantage at home. It's time pitches and groundsmen are rated every seasn and the ones who prepare tracks which suit India should be the ones who are promoted and asked to oversee preparations of tracks at various venues.
