The_Black_Prince
Zaheer was a good player............but when he played India he was playing in virtual home conditions. I would have to discount 10 points for that factor alone. Link to comment

coffee_rules
Indians during that time use to refer to him as "Zaheer Aub-bus" ( "Zaheer now stop"). It was by the topical Amul Butter ads in the 1977-78 series. In that series he took the famous spin quartet to the cleaners. In their defense, they were all nearing their age of retirement. Similar to what Sehwag did to Saqlain Mustaq in 2004. Link to comment
Gambit
Poor Chanderpaul doesn't know what it's like to win a test in India. Link to comment
The_Black_Prince
Yeah...........but Lloyd averaged 58 from 28 tests...............Shiv 72 from 18 tests. BTW, I think that most of us would agree that the Indian attack is more potent now with the 3 seamers and 1/2 spinners back-up............than in the days when Wadekar used to rub the new ball in the dust and give it to Bedi to open, with 3 other spinners in the background. The_Black_Prince
Gambo..........pl. stick to the topic. We are talkin about Shiv's massive 72, not Windies woeful record. Link to comment
coffee_rules
Average against India is nothing to gloat about, Every tom dick and harry have scored against India. India bowling has always been weaker compared to it's batting. Compare your batsmens' performance against Australia or Pakistan who have better bowling team. Link to comment

The_Black_Prince
Coffee..........no-one is gloating. We are just reviewing the facts. At this point, Shiv's 72 against modern day India is hard to beat. Link to comment
Predator_05
This dude always gave me nightmares; 9 matches played, 1138 runs, a highest score of 232*, 3 hundreds and 7 fifties and an average of 94.83. Just short of 10 matches, but close enough Link to comment

Predator_05
Handy Andy Flower. He was an unbeatable batsman. The best non-Indian player of spin bowling i've ever seen. I wish he was Indian...:dong: Link to comment
The_Black_Prince
Arrite.............close but not close enough. Shiv's 72 still stands.:regular_smile: Link to comment
