ganeshran
Lead needed to make a match out of it? Aussies have a 40+ lead at the moment. How many more do they need to put something on the board for the bowlers to defend? It is a day 5 pitch and our batting has been prone to collapses in the last 2 years. Link to comment

yoda
This is what playing in India is all about. Got any good spinners? If not, don't bother showing up. Link to comment
Laaloo
They could declare now and win the match Dont think we can chase 41 on this pitch Link to comment
DomainK
This is what playing in India is all about. Got any good spinners? If not' date=' don't bother showing up.[/quote'] That way we can't play most of the teams. Link to comment
yoda
That way we can't play most of the teams. That's irrelevant. We need to play to our strengths. If there are other teams who have good spinners, good for them when they visit India. Link to comment
Laaloo
Would the England team have beaten us on this pitch? :hmmm: Link to comment
yoda
100+ can make it interesting. 4th innings collapse is always on the cards. Link to comment
gaurav92
Not possible until they script a miraculous finish. can' see them crossing 60. But to make a match of it, they will obviously need a 150-175 on this sort of a surface. If they get there (highly unlikely as I said before), its 75% in their favour as Indians can't win it inside two sessions and will look to draw the game. this could well be the defining moment for them in the test and can go for the kill. Magneto
The worst thing possible is that they get to a hundred, and India loses 2-3 wickets with Kohli ending up in a 20 not out kind of score. :nervous: Link to comment

I am totally in favor of spinning wickets in India. Link to comment
G_B_
The key issue is temperament. Kept his head down and blocked the deliveries as per his captains request Link to comment
kubrickian
ER I think monty and swann may have been a handful on this:giggle: They are not that great really. Indian batsmen played them poorly. For some reason, they didnt attack them, never came down the wicket, never tried to put pressure on them like Dhoni did in this innings. They were more than happy to play them from the crease and didnt rotate strike against them. That's what surprised me about their approach in the England series because in the past they used to be lot more aggressive against spinners. I'm not saying they are not good spinners and they didnt bowl well, but India should have easily tackled them. They were no big mystery. Just orthodox spinners. Link to comment
