Re: Poll : Predict the result of the 3rd test. Thanks Dhondy I was waiting for you to come up with a prediction :hic: Now am convinced India will win :hic: :wtg: Prior first test you predicted an innings defeat for India and India won. In the second test I was worrying India will lose and you strongly felt India will draw. :hic: I think you reverse jinx it greatly :wtg: I predict a draw but going by your prediction I guess I should change it to India to win the test perhaps ? :stickman:

BTW check out the last game that was played on this ground, Flem got a double and Franklyn got a hundred. Re: Poll : Predict the result of the 3rd test. Another defeat beckons. I don't expect India to get rolled over by an innings, but they definitely won't win. SA have much more at stake than India (read Borland's article on cricinfo) and Smiff's head is still on the chopping block. SA at home, don't believe they can lose against a supposedly inferior team like India - at least that is the impression i get when i read Smiff's comments. They will take heart from the fact that even without their best player Kallis, and despite being under pressure for the first two days when India were clearly on top - they still managed to beat them convincingly. Their lead strike bowler; Ntini - has got his radar on and is back in form after routing the Indian top order in the 4th innings of the last test. Graeme Smith; once struggling to cross double figures and burdened by the weight of expectation - finally got some runs under his belt and will undoubtedly feel relieved to have done so. His confidence has been restored. More bad news for India, and all the more reason for SA to fancy their chances. The Indians by contrast - are still in disarray. A much vaunted batting lineup flatters to deceive and provides further indication that it's best years are long gone. The most reliable of the lot; Dravid and Sehwag - are having the worst Test series of their careers; averaging 12 and 11 per iinnings, respectively. Tendulkar is still handy, but now unable to take charge against the bowlers and bat India into strong positions as he could several years ago. Laxman and Dhoni have been the only positives, and the latter is already out. The good thing is that these two tests are played back-to-back - hence the Indians won't get the opportunity to languish in their shame. No time for introspection, no time to brood over the numerous times they let SA off the hook at crucial junctures of the match. They will be forced to forget, re-group, and get back out there. The bowling attack looks genuinely potent with Munaf back in the fray. Whether their efforts will go in vain is still a question worth asking. Ultimately, bowlers can only win matches if they are given enough runs to defend; and this batting lineup has given scant indication that it is capable of doing so. SA's victory at Kingsmead was further proof of what a team can do if it performs collectively - in unison. Everyone chipped in at one stage or the other and contributed to what was a very hard-earned victory. They didn't need to rely on individual efforts. India still do, and that will be their undoing. Prove me wrong, Indians.

Smithy's wasn't a high class inning, half his runs came off edges and was very tentative. I don't think he will prove to be a threat for India.

That is so true, the two men India mostly rely upon to set up a victory in the recent years, Sehwag and Rahul Dravid are not in the best of form. I can't see them doing wonders in the last game either. As ever with Indian team we may be in for a suprise I feel, the batting may do wonderfully well while the bowling may not pull its strength in this game.
