I6MTW
Vijay has bought talent now. But where I don't know. Before he was like a tailender batting with no ability or technique. It's like he has bought talent from someone all of a sudden. Link to comment

The Dark Horse
I know he's still not fully convincing but full marks to him for applying himself patiently when the going was tough. If only he can improve his backfoot play on testing pitches- he'll have more to offer. Link to comment
Vilander
No backfoot play, strokeless...you might say. But he has temperment, you have to give it to him. Might still not do well in SA but he is going there.. lol. Link to comment

Vilander
at times i wonder if we are all trolling him with this cynicism or is he trolling us with his success..how is he ticking against Australia.. ?? Link to comment

carnish
Vijay had a great temperament. Lost it when he went to aggressive mode for IPL success. BUt he has worked hard and done well again. Talent is not everything, every player can improve if he works hard and hence we should never complain when a new guy gets a chance. Rather what dissapoints me is when people back the tried and trusted failures even when they have a long run of bad form. Players should only be in the team when they are in form else they must go back to domestic cricket. Link to comment

Malcolm Merlyn
One ball swings and he is gone.He will be a sitting duck in SA. Link to comment
Straight Drive
So far so good. He's done well on his comeback with two scores over 150. Offcourse it will be a tough tour but he is the best in form opener who deserves a first go for South Africa tour. To select anyone else over him at the moment would be unfair. Link to comment

rkt.india
One ball swings and he is gone.He will be a sitting duck in SA. Ball was reversing whole day for both Starc and Siddle, but he did well. He just did not expect the new ball to swing suddenly as new ball has not swung here at all. In SA ball will swing inevitably, so he will know what expected and will be better prepared for that. King Tendulkar
Technically VIjay is excellent. Back foot, front foot and all round the wicket. He has a chance to do well overseas. Dhawan is more suspect Link to comment
Cevno
Lol Vijay was sitting duck in SA last time. Technically he is weak too. Link to comment

Not sure why you are saying it was reversing all day ? Anyways, reverse is very different to conventional swing. Even Dhoni manages Reverse and Raina, Yuvraj too. For a opener you have to play both sides quick conventional swing. Link to comment
