coffee_rules
Did his job very well until he ran into beastly Morkel who was at his very best. If he had survived that one spell' date=' things would have been much easier. Bottomline is he was not a sitting duck against Steyn as everyone predicted. Actually he played him commendably well. Probably he didn't factor in Morkel who used the two card trick effectively . Hope he gets better.[/quote'] THis He saved Kohli, the first hour in the morning..very helpful for him to make that 100... Link to comment
ThePhenomenal1
I was dissapointed that he didn't score that much after surviving and playing 42 odd balls. Should have been atleast 15. He needs to rotate the strike more? Still, he did a good job and looked solid. I back him to do well in the next innings. Link to comment
Silva
this guy is so annoying. Plays out the new ball beautifully and then throws away his wicket. He did the same in the last tour in south africa too. Link to comment

King Tendulkar
Brilliant batting while dhawan looked all at sea Hostile SA bowling on hostile wicket Vijay fronted up techincally and mentally. Both innings saw of opening bolwers. No matter what happens in this innings defo has to have a long run. Looks the real deal, all those supposed weakneeses he has which ICF experts harped on about seem unfounded. All respect to him. Brilliant stuff Link to comment
vvvslaxman
I understand skepticism about his batting before the Test. In the first innings he displayed tremendous discipline which you couldn't see from Australia or even SA in this test. Still our experts had to come and say "I am still not convinced" lol Link to comment
ravishingravi
Ok. I concede he has done much better than expected. Link to comment
Pagalpanti
He did the job openers are expected to do in SA (play out new ball). Tbh though I thought he got lucky today, the bowler who troubled him the most was Morkel. Nevertheless exceeded our expectations. Link to comment
vvvslaxman
He did the job openers are expected to do in SA (play out new ball). Tbh though I thought he got lucky today' date='[b'] the bowler who troubled him the most was Morkel. Nevertheless exceeded our expectations. The bowled we expected to trouble him most was not Morkel. Steyn and Philander as everyone was questioning his outside the off stump play. Link to comment
Ghost Buster
Unlucky, well played though. Link to comment
South_Paw
Deserves to be in for NZ series. Dhawan is the one who has to be watched. This too I think is good as I by now Dhawan's macho attitude has been face punched. Link to comment

Pagalpanti
The bowled we expected to trouble him most was not Morkel. Steyn and Philander as everyone was questioning his outside the off stump play. That was before the test, but in Jo'burg Morkel was clearly SA's best bowler. Anyway he's again proving us all wrong and with Morkel playing! This guy has shown great temperament. From being a t20 hack to this series, he's come a long way. Link to comment
