If we were not going to play them together even on such a track, what was the point of taking Harbhajan on the tour?

Re: Why did we pick two spinners? Overseas two spinners can only be played as part of a 5 man bowling combination. If Pathan was in half decent form, India would have picked both Harbhajan and Kumble for this test.

We didn't know Pathan would be sent back midway through the tour and would be nowhere close to contention for a spot in the XI when the team was picked. As for the pitch, I still dont think its an Indian pitch. Its as Indian as one can find in South Africa but all the action is happening only from the rough right now. Its a huge gamble playing 2 spinners in a 4 man attack. If you lose the toss chances of winning the test are down to nothing.

The thing is our team was/is never a settled one.We always try piecemeal solutions for well known issues.Bad administrators are one major reason for perennial fire-fighting. If this does not work then try the other.Heck even Chappell has adopted nicely :hic: Fact of the matter is nobody knows who will fail/succeed and hence if both sree and khan suck then play Bhaji if not let then just let him be there. I've seen enough of this sh!t to be overly excited or depressed no matter how they play.
