In this case, "choke" = Failing on big occasions That is what SA top and middle order did. The lower order took them to a respectable total otherwise they would have struggled to get to 100. But overall they played exactly how a tournament favorites should not play in a crucial match. Even though they miss few bowlers, it is their batting that let them down. They just miss Smith and Kallis. Australia has shown how a tournament favorites should play in crucial matches. Be it is Gilly tearing apart Srilankan without even giving a breather in 2007 world cup final or Punter massacring our sorry attack in 2003 world cup final. Link to comment
