CG
Few People were saying how india downfall was due to gary leaving. Some idiots even said with all injury problems in india tour of eng if gary kirsten was there we somehow would have done better. Coach Has limited Role ,So Results should to be a judje ,Btw i hate duncan Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Fletcher after all the stick suddenly looks good and kirsten pants It sums up that a coach or captain is only as good as its team. Flower is being built up as some master coach, when in reality he just has good group of players, in particular fast bowlers. Link to comment

vvvslaxman
Yeah but we just whitewashed the aussies and have sir jadeja. Its all changed :cantstop: In the current form Bangladesh will fancy themselves to whitewash them. They are so bad. Link to comment
vvvslaxman
In a knock out scenario with so many key players missing and general tendency to choke it is not surprising SA was out .. that too against no.2 ranked ODI side in the world. But getting cleaned up like we did in England and Australia cannot be matched. Those were just not losses. Gigantic losses. Link to comment
maniac
Fletcher has done more than Gary by bringing a fresh crop of players and has worked with them than Gary ever did.....Indians have improved their play against short ball more than they did under Gary...For eg;we got bounced out of 2 T20 Wc's under Gary but that didn't change anything....the current lot look much more comfortable. Not giving credit to Duncan entirely here but Gary is definetely overrated......Infact Robin and Venky did a better job but our fascination with everything phoren let us spend $millions to hire him. Can anyone attribute India's accomplishments during Gary's tenure to him? Test No1=The foundation was laid much before that Drawing in S.A=Freak spell by Sree and in-form seniors helped out WC victory=We could have won it without a coach Link to comment

maniac
Selectors changed.. that is what happened. Few sensible players retired on their own terms. Agree....but also have to say Duncan took over at more complicated time than Gary Duncan's obsession with Allrounders/bowlers who can bat is well known and the progress of Bhuvan,Sir Jaddu and even Irfan who looked real good in Aus during his comeback can be attributed to him. Raina's problem with Shortball looks more mental than Technical now as it looked under Kirsten,Infact there was nothing done to rectify it. Also S.A would have looked unbeatable under any other coach with the team they have but again in tests, they are riding their fortune of having a brilliant team. Where are the next generation? S.A will find themselves in the same transition that India did but fortunately for them Smith,Amla,AB,Steyn are still young enough Link to comment
CG
Selectors changed.. that is what happened. Few sensible players retired on their own terms. the same selectors persisted with likes of gambhir, shewag, yuvraj until it became just not possible to select them.Dhoni deserves credit for jadeja, rohit .Also what new players are we talking about all of them except bhuvi had played much before. zumi
role of Indian coach seems limited to providing advice to players, unlike the Australian and England coach who seem to have strong influence over squad selections, team selections and game tactics. Link to comment
