I give him benefit of doubt for this match but these press releases hyping every tom dick and harry who pretend to call themselves as fast bowlers needs to stop.
Because he had certainly done some thing in domestic cricket. Whoever watched him bowling, really liked him. He is not really pacey but a guy who can move the ball and has brilliant outswinger.

People are really harsh on young and rookie youngsters.
:agree: by this standard even alastair cook should have stopped playing because of his mediocre performances early on in his career. look at him today. this is the problem we have now. people want positive results as quick as instant maggi noodles :giggle:

I really liked this guy when i first saw him against Mumbai.....very strong lad and get a good bounce.....he really looks like a bowler(build).....What impresses me is his consistency with his line & length and good natural out-swinger.....Keep him away from ODI and T-20 and in an year or so....he will be a intl material.. BTW we are not like OZ or Paki...which has unlimited pace bowling supply....For an indian he is more than decent and a product in making.... He will be really handy in aussie pitches (2014 world cup)

No offense to him but he is already nearing 24 years, if he is still not the best four or five bowlers in the country by now he might never reach there, he had his chance to show his worth and emerge as leading candidate in Irani trophy but he was decent at best. He plays in a weak Ranji group so his stats are not a true indicator of his talent ,that said as he was a late starter let us wait and see where he goes from here.

Weak ranji group? who said that to you? So Ranji champion Mumbai, Finalist Saurashtra and semi finalilst Punjab are weak teams? here are the groups.
Ranji Trophy groups Group A: Rajasthan, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Railways, Bengal, Punjab, Gujarat Group B: Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Delhi, Baroda, Odisha Group C: Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Services, Tripura, Goa, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Assam
He has been a late bloomer and has only played 2 Ranji seasons and he was the best fast bowler in the current domestic season with 48 wickets, following a 25 wickets season before that. He has all the chances to make it to India A tour to SA and then India's tour to SA in December. He is not far behind in pecking order. He can be a fine prospect with his brilliant outswingers at pace around mid 130s in SA if he does well on A tour there. Regarding Irani trophy, dont know how many Indian pacers would have done much on that pitch. Every player needs time to develop. You will hardly see a readymade player like SRT who did not toil much in FC and international cricket and had success straight away. BK played 5 years of FC season and even then he never looked a great prospect, but the a good stint with Indian team has made him much more confident about his skills. My might or might not become good, but at least need to get a fair chance with India A.

Against Gujrat he took 2 wickets, Hyd he took 4 wickets, Rajasthan which has no good batsmen he took 7,against Bengal without Tiwari he took 10 wickets, against Railways another team without any good batsmen he took 8 wickets, Punjab with Yuvi and other guy Jiwanjot he took 4 and 0 when both Yuvi and other guy scored 100s. Against Mumbai with no Rohit he took 5 and 2 and in knockout match against Pujara in second innings he had no answers. All I see is he making merry against mediocre batsmen but not yet tested against quality batsmen. He has no pace and if only swing is his main weapon it needs to be outstanding to make a mark in international stage. In India especially where people like Ishant and Pathan are given debuts at age 17/18 years just because they are fast bowlers and fast bowling is still easiest way to get into Indian team as it has no bowlers. Guys like Dinda are getting selected ahead of him even in his IPL team so let us wait and see where he goes from here.

How many wickets Aussie pacers took on Indian flat tracks? Even Steyn looks blunt on flat tracks. He is a prospect, not a finished article. Pathan and Ishant played for India u19 that helped them debut early.

That is the problem. we have so many unfinished article. Some articles never look like getting finished. Growth rate of Indian fast bowlers is probably the slowest in world cricket. Part of the reason is they don't have potential. We just throw in all the names hoping some would stick. Zak at his peak looked like a finished article that too for few years. How many finished articles we have had in the last 10 years? None. RP singh made news, Irfan made news, Ishant made news, Balaji made news, Sreesanth made news, Munaf made news, PK made news ... Now Bhuvan is making news, that's it.. they have one or two good series and never grow up.

 for People writing it off as just another IPL game Going for a one-off 20+ over in a T20 may not mean a lot but it does matter how he gave away those runs.....his over included a free hit and a noball when the batsman was going all guns blazing at him....this shows how easyily he was mentally taken apart. I have seen the likes of Steyn,Murali etc go for sme expensive overs at times but the fact is that they try something different,if the batsman comes on top,or the pitch is flat or is just plain unstoppable on that day nothing much can be done but the way a guy gets shaken up can tell you a lot. I am not completely writing him off yet but he didn't look impressive yesterday....strong focus on the word yesterday

Steyn, Murali are legends. You compare legends to a rookie.

There is not one reason for slow growth of Indian fast bowlers. All those bowlers you mentioned above had different reasons for not growing. Most of them had fitness issues like Balaji, Munaf, PK; some had attitude issues like Munaf, Sreesanth, PK, and some lacked right guidance and counseling like Pathan and Ishant and then likes of Balaji and Pathan were never that great a talents that they made out to be. Same bowlers if were born in Aus and SA would have become match winners. Just wait and watch Gurinder Singh Sandhu and how he will develop in Aussie cricket culture. If he was in India, you could imagine how his career would have gone on.
