Old guy
I didn't have time for Eden. Ditto for Wankhede :headshake: What jinx? :dontknow: they did not let you in otherwise there is no way you wil miss matches in these grounds and that too sachin's last :--D Link to comment
saneindian
Actually they should rest him at Wankhede and play Umesh. Umesh needs to play a test before SA. Has been nearly an year since he played in tests. Kpee the three of them ready for SA. Zaheer and Ishwar already playing FC cricket Link to comment

express bowling
I don't think BK's performance in only this test has much to do with BK's criticism. He is a good bowler for ODIs and tests in swing friendly conditions. But, for subcontinent tests , he was never a wicket taking bowler and most posters have been saying that even before this test. adi B
I think bhuvi will be super in South africa. That is one place where the new ball does do something extra. Look at Praveen kumar. Averaged 25 with the ball in england when India were beaten 4-0 actually PK avged 29.5 in england with a mediocre S/R of 63 saf wont have overcast conditions which we found in england, the pitches might be more greener with more bounce and lateral movement ,so yes he`ll get good zip and bounce off the pitch but not too much of swing Link to comment
helperononline
he bowled so well for us in the aus series picking crucial wickets with the new ball indian fans have poor memory Link to comment
express bowling
he bowled so well for us in the aus series picking crucial wickets with the new ball indian fans have poor memory Well... BK managed to take 6 wickets from 4 tests. Average 39.8, SR - 64 for that series. 3 of those were in Mohali, having perhaps the most pacer friendly pitch among test venues in India. Now, he has 8 wickets from 5 tests overall. Shami already has 9 wickets from 1 test. I would not exactly call BK a wicket taker in the tests he has played so far. Link to comment
Texan
Don't know why he is getting all this hype and overrate. He is sadly just another one of our trundler brigade :(( Wait for him to play in overseas conditions (SA, Aus, Eng, NZ) and then we can revisit this. Link to comment

Tendulkar_Bhai
What a waste of time thread, BK is a our most promising bowlers and has everything other than express pace which means he will be a good bowler aka Zak. Link to comment
express bowling
Wait for him to play in overseas conditions (SA' date=' Aus, Eng, NZ) and then we can revisit this.[/quote'] He should do very well in swing friendly conditions. That is the point really. Horses for courses. Play BK where he can succeed and play Umesh in the subcontinent. Link to comment
Silva
In fairness to BK its not very often that a bowler takes 3 wickets in the first 15 overs of an innings and he did it twice already. That does put huge pressure on the batting line up if they loose 3 top order wickets early. And in foreign pitches you need the new ball to count. So you can make the case for BK to be in the playing 11 almost as a new ball specialist. But, another problem on foreign pitches is that India might not play 5 bowlers, and won't have 2 specialist spinners in the playing 11 so he would have to bowl 20+ overs unlike on Indian pitches where he bowls almost exclusively with the new ball. Thats why if its between A fit z khan or BK in south africa I would pick Z khan. But BK can be effective too but can also easily be a liability if the new ball doesn't work out for him. Its an obvious for BK to be in the line up if Ashwin plays as an all rounder. Link to comment

That BK is our best bowler in tests is a figment of your imagination, not supported by facts. Shami would get reverse swing on many Indian grounds. Even when he does not , he has weapons like sharp movement off the seam which he has used in this test match also. He can conventionally swing the ball both ways too. Has pace . So, he has many tools to get wickets. Link to comment

Sean Bradley
Bhuvi is a good bowler with the new Ball. He ll be handy in south africa, but i will always play Yadav ahead of him in Test Matches and Bhuvi ahead of Yadav in ODI's since i see Shami cementing his place in the team. Link to comment
