vvvslaxman
Temperament will be severely tested. On a flat pitch they can throw the bat around score a few like Bhajji did last time. Link to comment

Old guy
But none of them can sieze the momentum back when things are running away from you like Steyn. That is where Steyn comes in . Wresting back the initiative. It is not a flawless side. They have a fixer upper in the form of Steyn everytime things go wrong like he produced a magical spell in Australia reducing OZ to 45 for 6 in no time when the series could have ended in a draw. lol thing is not many people in history did that and never so consistently australia example is good but keep in mind when rest of attack performs teams get out under 50 without even contribution from steyn! bowling is not problem but some times batting is if big players fail but they mostly do very well in test cricket so rightfully they are number 1 and about reserves we all saw how over rated australian and english reserve bowlers were in last ashes and in this ashes ..ryan harris is class and siddle can bowl great spells on his day but rest of them did nothing in england against good batting line up and same against south africa bird was hyped to be next mcgrath and we saw how he fared.. while south african bowlers rarely get same hype that is the difference otherwise they are just as good if not better Link to comment
MCcricket
This current Indian team are as good as anyone at dominating at home in test and ODI and winning odi's convincingly anywhere , but also have the talent to win test anywhere , if selectors and Dhoni learn their lessons, THIS GROUP OF CRICKETERS ARE MORE HUNGRY, AGGRESSIVE AND EQUIPPED THEN OUR Dravid, Laxman, Tendulkars, also our bowling line up is looking good and I see India winning abroad as well in the coming tours and years, emphasis though should be on longer test series as it evens out the away factor more and greater pool of talented seamers brought into the picture also hope to see Sehwag and Gambhir in the team in the future as they can contribute a lot if in form . MCcricket
All this bullshit about pace and lack of pace, Shami, Umesh, Zak combo is as fast as SAFFERS LOL, Shami bowls upto high 140's, Umesh can flirt with 150's, Zak can bowl close to 140 so, its bull, the series will depend on batters and captaincy for India . maniac
Nope....but I expect aswin to do better than dhoni and one of the younger top order players....aswins batting temparement unfortunately is leagues ahead of his bowling temparament Link to comment
SLICKR392
Sound more like Fannie than AB. Pretty rough coming from him. The first game will be played on a green top (as stated on Moonda's article). Good for us as it would turn out to be a good preparation ahead of the Test series. Can't see us winning the ODI series though. Link to comment

rkt.india
Sehwag and gambhir averaged 40 against england. So do not give that excuse.Yeah no better bloke to captain away than who lost us 8-0. Sehwag had one good innings in England series. Sehwag played against Aus too in first two tests and did not do anything. They both struggled big time and were low in confidence. GG did score runs at 40 but he was barely assured and then averaging just 40 in Indian conditions was the reason we lost that series. 40 can be acceptable in England, Aus, and SA, for openers not in India. We were not playing away after England series. No Indian batsman can survive for long averaging just 40 in India and then Dhoni's place too was still in question till he played that 200 innings against Aus in first test under pressure. One of the best innings you would ever see in India. Link to comment
