Re: Aus post record 20/20 score It was quite good to listen while he was batting. They had hooked gilly up to a microphone enabling him to talk to the commies on the air which we could hear live. Gilly was stating his mindset, the next ball he was expecting from the bowlers, his approach to the inning, his comments on the bowlers, the batsman at the other end et al. It was an excellent experience to hear to a batter and get a piece of his mind set while he was batting. While batting Gilly stated Ponting had asked him to just bat normally. Few times Gilly predicted what sort of ball he was expecting the bowlers to bowl. He complimented Freddi and said it was tough to hit him out of the park as he had excellent length and mixes the deliveries up nicely. The best part was when he smoked two sixes of Lewis and Mark Taylor asked Gilly to make it 3 in a row. Gilly didn't disappoint and smacked Lewis over Sq leg for a monster six. Then he explained Lewis holds the ball up a bit and also was using the cross seam so he was playing him more like a spinner. Slats asked Gilly to settle down a bit after the 3rd six and Gilly took a single the next one. It was quite good to know Gilly watches the ball closely and how he approaches each ball in an international game. It was a good experiment letting us know the mindset of a batter such as Gilchrist. I'm sure a lot of youngsters would have learnt one or two tricks from this experiment.

Re: Aus post record 20/20 score Gilly's nickname was Church because in England in '97 some kid went up to him and asked him if he was Elfin Church or something! Boy does that kid and England fans know who he is now!

Re: Aus post record 20/20 score and hansi was asked to remove his ear piece... man..these SA guys were really ahead of their time...infact they marched a bit too fat..and got involved in fixing.. :hic: i saw the highlight of this match..it was nice listening to him.. ponting was superb as well...he playes that pull and hook shot so well.... he will end up with most runs...in test cricket..most centuries...and highest average for 100+ tests he is just awesome..its all in the mind..and mental approach to the game.. this is where..sachin is lacking big time..and where Dravid scores more than him... Rahul Dravid and Ponting will go neck to neck..for next 3 years..atleast in tests..
