yoda
Who is this moron who claims Dravid's mind wasn't on the game? Did this ahole ever play for India by any chance? http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/rsavind/content/current/story/275828.html Bhupinder Singh Sr, the North Zone representative in India's selection committee, has come down hard on Rahul Dravid, saying that his "mind was not on the game" during India's recent tour against South Africa. Sooda
Re: Who the fack is Bhupinder Singh Sr? National selector under pressure Anand Vasu January 9, 2007 Bhupinder Singh Senior, the national selector from the North Zone, could have got himself into trouble over comments on Rahul Dravid that appeared in Mid Day, a Mumbai tabloid. Bhupinder was quoted as saying that Dravid's "mind was not on the game" in the last Test against South Africa. Bhupinder has not, so far, denied making these comments, and it is understood that officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India are unimpressed by his actions. Although they will not directly take action against Bhupinder just yet Cricinfo has learned that the BCCI will be writing to Bhupinder on Wednesday seeking an explanation. They will also, in the same missive, be reminding Bhupinder that it is not in his place to be making comments about individual players in the Indian team. Link to comment

When the players are under some sort of a "curfew" not to say things to media how come the selectors, member of board right down to jhadoo maarne waala at BCCI office gets to talk to media and air his comments? It is one thing for the Chief Selector(Vengsarkar) to air his disappointment, more so since he was asked by BCCI head to go to South Africa after ODI debacle and completely other to have a Bhupinder Sr comment on Indian team, specially its skipper, publicly and even attacking him with a personal "weak in mind". BTW Yoda we have had worse Selectors than Bhupinder Singh Jr. At current time we have Sanjay Jagdale(Central Zone) & Ranjib Biswal(East Zone) picking Indian team..neither of them played any form of International cricket. xxx Link to comment

dhruvdeepak
Re: Who the fack is Bhupinder Singh Sr? it is a fallacy to think that a selector needs oodles of international experience. you dont need to have played international cricket to be able to spot a talent, to be professional and ethical, to be consistent in your judgment of players, to work on a set of criteria in picking players etc. in fact Vengsarkar being a former hero of Indian cricket could theoretically have the rest of the selectors following his every word not because of the merit of his arguments but because of his star status.
