Delhi 330 for 7 (Sehwag 106, Chopra 84, Bhatia 55*) v Haryana Scorecard Virender Sehwag shrugged off a horror tour of South Africa with a century on return, leading Delhi to 330 for 7 at the end of the first day at Rohtak. Coming in at No.4, Sehwag's was a controlled effort - easing to 41 off 70 balls before stepping it up to complete his century in 124. He smashed 15 fours in his 16-minutes stay and added a vital 112 with Aakash Chopra, who used to open with him a few years ago. Chopra compiled a steady 84, which included ten fours, and there was another half-century from Rajat Bhatia, who was unbeaten at the end of the day. Amit Mishra, Haryana's captain, was the most effective bowler with 3 for 67. ----------------- NICE Mean while...a day for medium pacers... Rudra Pratap Singh and Praveen Kumar got four wickets each as Uttar Pradesh bowled out Andhra for 111 inside 38 overs Ranadeb Bose, with his second successive six-wicket haul, sliced through Rajasthan's batting line-up as Bengal dominated on the opening day at Kolkata. Alfred Absolem (WTF?) wrecked Punjab with a seven-wicket haul on the opening day as Hyderabad gained the upperhand in a virtual quarterfinal at Uppal. Choosing to make full use of the pitch, Hyderabad, led by VVS Laxman, decided to bowl first and their medium-pace attack, as it has done all season, delivered Gagan outbowling VRV there... Bowling O M R W Econ Gagandeep Singh 12 2 39 2 3.25 L Ablish 11 3 22 0 2.00 (1nb, 1w) VRV Singh 10.5 1 47 1 4.33 (7nb) Harbhajan Singh 6 0 25 0 4.16

Re: Sehwag slams century for Delhi pick schewag and drop kaif. it is interesting to note that in the interview that greg chappel gave yesterday he left out Kaif's name and mentioned Raina. If we can find good opening partnership among Tendulkar, Gangully, Uthappa or Gambir then middle order can get strengthenned with Dravid, Schewag, Raina, Dhoni and Yuvaraj. All is not lost yet. India can still win WC atleast on the drawing board :-)

Re: Sehwag slams century for Delhi we have a pretty good ODI team...its just that some of the top order is out of form.. i would want team india to open with Sachin and Ganguly.. also bouncer and no-balls have limits in ODIs..so ganguly can benefit from that... it will be interesting to watch Ganguly against Mcgra..Lee..Nel..Bond.. My team would Be.. 1. Sachin 2. Ganguly/ Gambhir ( 8 matches will decide the fate ) 3. Yuvi 4. Dravid 5. Sehwag 6. Raina 7. Dhoni 8. Bhajji 9. Zaheer 10. Sreesanth 11. Munaf i think 6 batsmen + 1 WK + 4 bowlers. i see no place for pathan here...he will be of no use in WI..where swing does not happen much.. and where would we put Agarkar? 5th bowler's place can be filled by ganguly + sehwag + sachin + Yuvi + Raina. we need Raina in the team...we need good fielders in the team...

Re: Sehwag slams century for Delhi based on your team selection the middle order will fail guaranteed Raina hasnt scored out of India Yuvraj is fresh from injury, Laxman would solidfy these issues and Laxman has improved as a fielder, and he will quickly learn from his mistakes in the SA series. Raina doesnt equal to half of Laxman on the batting pedigree, batting will win games having guys like Laxman would boost the middle order he just needs some matches to get going. Not just 1 match like in SA
