Not gonna happen. It will be flat tracks like they had it in 2009. NZ are going to produce phatta wickets to please Bcci. Everyone knows this and thy just want Indian team to play for 5 days and earn some big bucks.

Kiwis went to the extent of changing pitch conditions during an on-going test match in 2002. They watered the pitch between days because India was going to bat next. Asking for specific type of pitch before game starts is OK, interfering with the pitch during the game is shameless.
Nope they didn't. IIRC, when day's play was over, they didn't put back covers for 40 minutes. NZ had to bat next day. Ganguly accused that they did so that pitch loses moisture. Finally referee had to intervene and pitch was covered.

Bhuvi will feast on them on those lush green wickets.
They will gobble bhuv up Bk is ok with new ball. After that sub 79 mph bowler with so far no evidence can reverse it If going for 4 pacers. Then unleash Indias fastest bowler. Bowl fast in short 4 to 5 over spells. Tell him to attack and go for wickets

If the pitches are as green as Hesson wants it to be then Bhuvi will kill them. Yadav, Shami & Bhuvi.

I can't believe they would leave out a genuine swing bowler like bhuvi .
Cos he cant reverse it and bowls 78 with old ball We have our new ball bowlers sorted. We need seamers who can deliver with pace the old ball I acnt believe we would leave out the fastest bowler in India

India would welcome it actually our bowling is struggling to get 20 wickets' date=' perhaps this might help them. Also NZ are over-rating their batting. Taylor scoring runs againd BD and WI is being hyped up big time.[/quote'] He didn't score all that many runs against Bangladesh. Williamson did.

India vs NZ, 4th ODI : PreDiscussion Just one more chance for Dhawan 5 failures so far, 23, 33, 13 15, 29 in 3.5 tests after 187 on debut. He can still play the first test in NZ and should be given a break. If Rahane or Gambhir wants it back and are hungrier they should be given chances. NZ will be greener and faster.

Rahane is not an opener in Test and will be in the middle order for sometime. He deserves it. Agree with the rest. Want him to succeed as we need someone like Dhawan up the order.
Has he ever said he doesn't want to open? Why do you think he cant open? He was a regular opener 2-3 years back in Ranji, he went to middle order because he thought there was no chance with Gambo and Sehwag were going great guns.

Yes he did, prior to the 4th Test against Australia. He personally asked the management that wants to bat in the middle order. Don't know what you are going on about. He opened for Mumbai only in his first few matches.

Thank God the Lankan selectors did not apply the same yardstick after Marvan Atapattu's start to his test career. Here were his first 6 scores in test cricket - 0,0,0,1,0&0. :phehehe: Shikhar is an attacking batsmen. He's going to have some extremely good days and some extremely bad days. Gotto perserve though.

Too early to discard him. He will flourish once he understands what works what doesn't work in Tests. He hasn't mastered teh waiting game.
Agree with this. Once you've discovered talent and potentiall, you don't just discard it after a few 'failures' (I wouldn't say they were outright failures, he just needs to adapt his game better to the long format, play more patiently, basically make a few tweaks to his game). Dhawan has already shown that he has the class to play at this level, now it's a question of giving him the time and opportunities to adapt to it. In this series alone a lot of our players have made changes to adapt to the pitch and the opposition.

We can try to find two solid but slow/conservative openers. Or we can try to find one attacking (like Dhawan) and one conservative (M.Vijay). Gavaskar/Srikkanth - Cheeka was the unconventional and unreliable one. But will score quick. Sehwag/ - Sehwag was the unconventional and unreliable one. But scores quick. Dhawan needs to get at least 40-45 average over the long run (Right now his 187 is causing a skew). So that is going to be tough. If he can do 40+ average and score quick - then some unreliable factor can be tolerated. Sehwag was once in a bluemoon player (esp in Tests) for India. Rare hand-eye coordination. If Dhawan fails - are there any good new prospects? (Gambhir needs to get into good form for selection - not just a default pick) One opener should be able to score a bit quicker if the other is conservative.

sorry but there is no opener on the horizon who is ready for test cricket as yet' date='i dont think this team will change unless there is an injury.[/quote'] yep, only old (Gambhir) and older (Jaffer) can be considered. Who else is Test opener quality in India currently?
