aditya4all
Before the start of the Indian Premier League auction, all eyes were on sacked England batsman Kevin Pietersen and New Zealand`s mighty all-rounder Corey Anderson to emerge as the high-profile players in the seventh edition of lucrative IPL. But as players went under the hammer, India`s out of form batsman Yuvraj Singh, surprisingly attracted an exorbitant price of 14 crore, which left cricket fans and experts baffled. Yuvi was auctioned at a whopping sum of Rs 14 crore to Vijay Mallya`s Royal Challengers Bangalore, which was seven times more than his Rs 2 crore base price, outshining the likes of Pietersen and Mitchell Johnson who wreaked havoc against England at the recently concluded Ashes series. Ahead of the auction, RCB skipper Virat Kohli expressed his desire to sign Yuvraj for his team, a reason which could have led Mallya to place such a high bet on the left-hander. “We wanted to boost our bowling department and Yuvraj will help do that,†said a satisfied RCB owner Vijay Mallya soon after the first round of auction. Yuvraj was dropped from the Indian squad for the ongoing New Zealand tour, owing to his dismal show against the Proteas. Considering his excellent record in the T20`s, Yuvraj has been included in India`s squad for the forthcoming ICC World T20. Apart from the above, when looking at the past records and performance of Yuvraj Singh, there is no doubt Yuvi will worth more than 14 crores! Yuvraj was earlier associated with Pune Warriors and Kings XI Punjab. It will be interesting to see, if Yuvraj will be able to stand tall on his price tag. TNAmarkFrmIndia
Will be hilarious if he turns out to be a massive flop. Yuvraj has never done well in the IPL, barring maybe the first few seasons.
Pakistan
This will go down as biggest waste of money in short history of IPL. He is finished as a top level player.
vvvslaxman
If Justin beiber can be a billionaire i say yes lol Difficult to quantify worth in entertainment and sports business. Some great artists don't make as much remotely as super stars. IPL is mostly about entertainment . I am pretty sure some deep connection between Yuvraj and RCB members have something to do with this . Deepika :hmmm:
Pagalpanti
Well if Irfan and Yusuf can go for 10 cr, he sure is worth 14 cr. Anyway expect him to do a lot better in this season. In KXIP and PWI never saw him bat with freedom. In this line up he can play his natural game

Switchblade
Watched Zee news the staff members of Kingfisher Airlines haven't been paid their salaries they are requesting Yuvraj not to play in the IPL. 13cr was the amount which Mallaya owes to his employees. Plus when Zee news sms'd him about him not paying his employees he never replied to them. Sent from my Micromax A110 using Tapatalk

NareshK
I honestly think he is finished and have no idea why they keep bringing him back. He won't do well if he plays in World T20 too. He can't play spin or pace anymore to save his life.

punjabi_khota
IPL buys and sells are not about cricketing form/talent only. There are intangibles like popularity etc.
Desi Cartman
14 cr is not a lot of money in India today. One cant even buy a house (not an apartment) in south delhi with 14 cr.
