Sooda
Kaka and Rivaldo being 'better than' Pirlo is not such an outlandish claim at all- both are WC winners, world players of the year, Champions league winners. Also I wouldnt say Rivaldo was underrated, recognised as one of the greats of his generation, cost Barca a lot of money and was awesome for them. Him, Kluivert and Figo formed one hell of a strike trio

Rivaldo on the other hand played as an attacking midfielder/support striker. He was an outstanding player but Pirlo's role as a play maker is different. Kaka could not do it long enough and he was on the bench all tournament when Brazil won the WC in 2002. Pirlo otoh played an active part in Italy's win in 2006 and he is still going strong at 35. King Tendulkar
Really prilo is more a midfield player whose main aim is to keep the ball with odd killer pass. In comparison he should be compared to xavi as they fill same role. Argument is who is best between the two in that role These types are very good players but very different from the goal scoring match winners. Rivaldo scintillated in 2002 world cup for example and would have been top scorer in tourney but for ronaldo. Amazing feat for an attacking midfield player. Another fantastcally underated player was Baggio who almost single handledly took Italy to 1994 final. Both are superior to the massively over hyped ziddane, who seems to ge the plaudits more for astetic beauty then actual deliverance . As both created as much and certainly piled in many more goals from the attacking midfield slot that Ziddane fills. I still remember Rivaldos amazing hatrick for Barcelona to qualify them for the champs league. Also Rivaldo scintillated for Deportiva which was amazing feat in the barca/Madrid centric league. BeautifulGame
Also those writing eulogies about Pirlo how many games did Italy dominate on there way to the WC win 2006? They mainly won their through their defensive. He is a great but some have suddenly started OTT mainly becoz the the match against England in last euros
