Re: Aus - Eng ODI Love how this thread suddenly goes quiet once Pidge starts shutting people up and returning to form. 3/24 in 8 overs... not bloody bad, given that he wasn't even fully certain to play this a couple of days ago with his muscle strain. And the Pommybastards are 149/9 right now. Contest? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Re: Aus - Eng ODI Love how you only show up when the Aussies seem to do well Salil :hic: Just kidding mate. These days when these two are involved it is just another day in the office for the Aussies. The poms are way way behind the Aussies in all facets of cricket. I only throw a cursory glance at the scores when these two are involved

I've not been around on the boards all that much! :hic:

And in one day cricket, they've been in the stone age for well over a decade now. Back in the 80s, they treated it with some respect and did well - made the finals in the 87 and 92 World Cups, but since then have treated it as a far lesser form of the game and shown either some disdain or cluelessness in their selection and tactics. Since 96 really, they've never been able to compete with the likes of Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, SAF, Australia and NZ for the most part. There was a brief period under Hollioake in 97 when there were glimpses of them being competitive in ODIs, but that was just a quick flash and they were back to their old mediocrity after that. No surprise to see them bowled out for 155 here. They've come into this tournament typically clueless and a far better and far more professional team ought to thrash them now.

Not the fact that India couldn't bloody win at all there, and Pakistan kept doing so most of the time - but the fact that the Pommybastards actually won a multination ODI series. To be fair, England were a good ODI side with proper depth, ODI bowling and hitting power in this time - in fact, they'd won the ODI Texaco Trophy series against Australia at home in the same year 3-0 against Mark Taylor's side. After that, business as usual. [Fun England incompetence memories: 1996, world starts catching up to the idea that big hitters should come in the first 15 overs to take advantage of fielding restrictions. Jayasuriya, Tendulkar, Mark Waugh, Afridi, etc all take charge. England's response: Promote Phil DeFreitas or Darren Gough. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.]

Re: Aus - Eng ODI Jesusfuckingchrist, Australia are 48/4. Two atrocious shots from Hayden and Gilchrist to give their wickets away, and some good bowling/fielding accounting for Hodge (duck, ha, take that you overrated Dicktorian) and Symonds. If Australia manage to lose this, Haddin and either Birt, Jaques or Rogers should get a couple of games in place of the other two muppets.
