Kohli did the right thing by keeping Bumrah and Bhuvi, the end-over specialists, for the last 9 overs... good captaincy today

If we played 50 overs, we may have scored 370+.

 

Shows what kind of a flat pitch this was.

 

Yet, we restricted the opposition for only 264.

 

Shows how good we bowled.... especially our specialist fast bowlers.

 

We have bowled really well throughout this tournament, including the practice matches.... except the match against SL.

 

That is great bowling in 5 out of 6 games.

Bumrah  bowled really well today.  He bowled an economical first spell of 5 overs, seamed the ball both ways, bowled some jaffas... but did not mix up lengths and did not pick wickets.   In his 2nd spell of 5 overs at the end, he came up with a very hostile spell of fast bowling, with lots of fast yorkers and bouncers at around 145 k. The batsmen were all at sea. He picked up 2 wickets.... one from a yorker and another from a bouncer and could have had a couple more on another day. His accuracy was spot on as usual. Returned with figures of 2 for 39 in 10 overs on a flat pitch.  Well done !

 

Bhuvi bowled  well too. His first spell was penetrating and he gave us the early breakthroughs. He mixed up lengths, bowled some good bouncers and set up batsmen really well. He got a bit of swing today.  His 2nd spell was top quality too....lots of  good yorkers, bouncers and slower balls.  He took 2 for 53 and this was another top performance.

 

Pandya was expensive today. But had an easy catch dropped off his bowling and got a wicket off a no ball. Could have bowled better.

 

Overall....superb performance from our specialist fast bowlers in a crunch semifinal.  This pace pair is looking dangerous.

Today was the quickest I've seen Bumrah bowl. Visually quick too. Batsmen were hurried a lot. Brilliant stuff.

pandya does need to keep up the good work done by bhuvi and bumrah. If he takes wickets too he will be so crucial. Can turn a game around so he needs to be disciplined.

This Indian fast bowling is the best I have seen in ODI, Bhuvi was very accurate n used diff lengths to keep BATSMEN busy, also quite a few runs came of edges, he has shown remarkable improvement in all depts, also looked threatening n like taking a wicket on a batters paradise.

Bumrah bowled with pace n control, also changed length later on but should do it more initially as well also offcutter would be handy on some surfaces.

Pandya went for some runs but could get wkts n bowled well and is growing as a player, I like that he is aggressive n uses short ball well, he is a natural talent n doesn't get fazed easily.
