India have complained to ICC on an incident involving Jadeja and Anderson in the 1st Test

Before formal charges were laid against Anderson, it is understood an ICC lawyer flew to England on Friday and spoke to both sides to see if the issue could be resolved. When that did not happen, the matter went through a legal process: on Sunday evening, the Indian team informed the England side that a Level 3 charge was being brought against Anderson and the formal "notice of charge" was issued on Tuesday.

Anderson claims are tactical - Cook http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/cricket/28328825

"It's probably a bit of a tactic by India," Cook said. "We are surprised but we can't let it be a distraction." "I am going to sound like (Arsenal football manager) Arsene Wenger here and say I didn't see the incident," Cook said. "Unfortunately I am not allowed to talk about it. "No one knew about it until after the game. It does seem a bit of a surprise that I got a text message and a phone call on Monday afternoon. I literally hadn't heard anything about it."
