vvvslaxman
Rohit does have a good technique' date='One or 2 freakish dismissals and you are completely writing him off......The guy has done almost a Vijayesque role in S.A ODI's and in C.T but obviously couldn't convert it and when the pitch favors him he becomes a total beast....Give him some leeway....He is definetely in the scheme of things like it or not[/quote'] ODIs.. lol. Seriously? One dayers you don't have 4 or 5 slips. no wide restrictions for bowlers, In Tests they can bowl two bouncers, They can bowl 7 or 8 over spell come back at any time they want, It is much easier scenario in one dayer. Besides one day pitches are hardly like what you see in Tests. It is a different cup of tea. If it were to be the same Tendulkar would have opened in tests. Link to comment
rkt.india
Temperament is always a big question mark' date=' somehow never gives an impression he can deliver[/quote'] This. He doesnt inspire any confidence. I have more confidence in Ashwin's batting. Link to comment
Old guy
He did all the hard work in S.A ODI's ...infact got run out in one of the games after all the hard work  He outlived the entire top order against a hostile opening spell :dontknow: http://www.espncricinfo.com/south-africa-v-india-2013-14/engine/match/648651.html http://www.espncricinfo.com/south-africa-v-india-2013-14/engine/match/648653.html But as I said not a ground breaking performance just the fact that like Vijay he can put his head down and earn his runs, not just the flamboyant game he can produce in S.C yar...its posts like this after which is started trolling about rohit hat you cannot see form score card is vijay left alone and lived very comfortable life at wicket but rohit played and missed plenty of times and if you read commentary of links you posted you will know on is luck while other is skill and one guy performed in tests against same team and other looked like hafeez Link to comment
Old guy
Shami's case is different. He looks out of shape' date=' flabby. It can be risky. Such a bowler can get injured anytime during the match and that farce must be avoided.[/quote'] i am not expert about this stuff but lets leave shami out of this thread...will dropping man batsman like kohli help him or team ? undisputed chap
Imo gambhir / saha should come in for binny becoz dhoni @ 6 is a disaster waiting to happen. If nohit comes in he should be ready to bowl a few overs along with VJ, dhawan & pujara. If saha comes in he should keep & dhoni should bowl:giggle: So we can also get an extra bowler & 7 batsman. :winky: Link to comment

Old guy
Only one guy asking to drop Kohli. and i responded to him shami issue is really debatable and you might be right but we tend to forget mental side of things with our bowlers other than zaheer i have never seen bowler dropped and improving in mean time and he seemed to be bowling better with every inning nad i feel in next inning or so he wlll get into perfect rhythm..he just seems close to it now to me Link to comment

maniac
who will bowl ? you want 3 quicks to bowl 90 + overs in every inning ? 4 good bowlers+ Parttimers get the job done....Kallis was not picked for his bowling as S.A had much better bowlers than him in reserves but his bowling add to his batting made him a once in a generation player. Watson hardly bowls......Aus more often than not don't want him to break down. Hafeez is a better bowler than a batsman but it is sad situation for them that he opens. But all in all these are pretty much 6+1+4 combos that give you an illusion of having 5 bowlers. Link to comment

Old guy
also you gave example of australia ..guess what? harris is injured and out for months and johnson is build like tank but even he wont be bale to continue for long and siddle looked like half the bowler by end of south africa tour because he was so tired you talked about kallis ? they played mclaren at home just for his bowling to support main 3 quicks and duminy for them is all rounder now even if he is crappy but they are going with 4 main seamers and duminy from now on Link to comment
