Old guy
They certainly makeup for 6ht batsman who is Rohit who might now even score equal to them. Yep or any one infact as at number 6 you normally don't score much and wicket keepers bat for most teams or all rounder Link to comment
Old guy
Well Jadeja is stock bowler, lots of overs take up one end. That's 4 bowlers. Hopefully jadeja will bowl better and take wickets as well, then 4 bowlers really will be enough. Frankly real question is ashwin or jadeja. Play ashwin it would mean only some of jadejas overs being eaten up, as we need seamers bowling most of overs as seamers conditions it will be. BK needs to work on fitness then, mans game tests. But its a team effort, BK flagged then Ishant stepped up I rate Ashwin as bat, defo decent but for me 6 is too much. BK at 9 saved us in 2 tests. Are we really banking on this happening regularly? Sorry but it's not about fitness you just cannot bowl that much it is impossible and that is reason most teams field 4 quicks no matter what and South Africa after Kallis made Duminy all rounder so that they can play 3 quicks in sub continent and 4 at home Link to comment
Temujin Khaghan
Can we play Bhuvi at 7, above dhoni and jadeja? Link to comment
Old guy
Can we play Bhuvi at 7' date=' above dhoni and jadeja?[/quote'] If ashwin plays he will bat above both and if not I am sure now jadeja after good inning will bat ahead of msd :giggle: Link to comment
Lord
You sum it up. But don't realise. We won last test with 4 bowlers, so dhoni going for 4 bowlers, yet people saying 5 bowlers won us last game:hysterical: He is not changing the strategy he is ticking to it, that's 4 bowlers. I repeat we played 4 bowlers last match and WON, binny not used as bowler!!! No change in successful strategy! ps we got to number 1 with 4 bowlers and strategy of piling runs on board We won on the back of freak spell by Ishant.relying on that is way too risky. Just tell me which is our weak link?batting or bowling?its definitely bowling due to which we need to include another option.Specially as the series goes on and tiredness kicks in the pacers. Binny wasn't used but it was the main reason he replaced Rohit in the first place. Now if he hasnt done well, try Ashwin.no need to change the combo. We got to no.1 with 4 bowlers bcoz that included Zak,Kumble etc. This attack is young.Same no.1 team got flogged in Eng and Aus with same strategy, yet you want to continue that Link to comment
Stuge
Yeh sach nahin hai.bolo dhoni..jawab do :/..tum binny ke saath bewafai nahin kar sakte ho :( Sent from my XT535 using Tapatalk 2 Link to comment
Lannister
Why won't he play ashwin? Has something happened between him and dhobi? 5 bowlers is a better bet as there is no guarantee that we will pick 20 wickets with just 4 seamers. Link to comment

Has something happened between him and dhobi? 5 bowlers is a better bet as there is no guarantee that we will pick 20 wickets with just 4 seamers. Everything is preplanned. Ashwin barely bowled even warmups. I doubt he will play any test. He is just a tourist for now. Link to comment
oneANDone
Now, Part of hard work done by current team, so he can play his natural 10 to 20 ball innings with middle stump rooted out with insane look at pitch to impress audience that he gets ball of the year that kept low and walk off the field, then commies to defend like this, " Its unfair to judge him with this single innings as ball kept low, even best batsmen couldn't able to to anything" Same old story :asleep: Link to comment
SLICKR392
Ashwin playing means 2 spinners If you think England with zero spinners is going to produce spinning track you out of your mind. No one plays 2 spinners in England Track will suit pace, may not be green like lords but will have carry and hit the gloves I am not asking to play both Jadeja and Ashwin. Either one should rest if one is playing. Link to comment
msb1991
It is a tough decision. I think there are good points in favour of Ashwin and good points in favour of Rohit. Link to comment
JourneyMan
All this talk, and in the end Rohit might not even play. Either way, I don't see the issue if he replaces Binny. Dhoni needs to use his part-timers to give the specialist bowlers a break. Vijay and Rohit can soak up 10 overs at a time between themselves. England struggle against any form of spin anyway. Jaddu has been bowling quite well, was a bit unlucky not to pick up a few wickets. Shami, BK and Ishant have been decent, but I'd still like to see some of our other pacemen get a run. Midfielder
Rohit will play and he will do well. Strategically Ashwin needs to play as he can hurt with the ball. Playing Rohit is a risky and defensive strategy but he will make runs. Link to comment
FreakazoiD
People who would rather have Aaron / Pankaj replace Binny should remember that Dhoni in the past has underbowled certain bowlers to the extent of giving them not more than 4-5 overs over 2 innings of a test. I'd rather have an extra batsman play and get some runs, than see the "fifth bowler" bowl just 4 overs and then reduced to a mere fielder. Link to comment

Actually, we have barely played a 5th bowler in years in test cricket. Link to comment
Midfielder
It depends on the mindset and approach. I rather have the fifth bowler. Link to comment
SLICKR392
Binny was under bowled because the other 3 seamers were fairing well. Now with 2 Tests gone, it's crucial to break the spells to avoid any injuries. An extra frontline seamer will only make the job more simple. @KT- We might have won the match with 3 seamers, similarily we won the same match with a batsman less. Would be glad if proved wrong, but we could fail to get 10 wickets in the 2nd innings at Rose Bowl with 3 seamers. Link to comment
velu
having 5th bowler is useless... if we include 5th bowler we end up under bowling any one of the bowlers.. Link to comment
