sscomp32
RIP. Just saw the news. The Zoo administration is just not ready to accept their fault. Eye witnesses say the boundary is too low and Zoo officials didn't help at all.
SLICKR392
If true' date=' then safety standards are appalling .[/quote'] Most zoos in and outside India have a barricade, and a huge pit with some protection. I have watched in TV people falling off from these barricades to those deep pit which pretty much means the end. Its quiet dangerous if some trips among the jammed crowd. mishra
I agree tiger may have been properly barricaded but the zoo authority should try to ensure that visitors dont get into tigers enclosure intentionally or accidentally.

Debutant
Sources said the boy climbed the fence of the enclosure, slipped and fell in, and the tiger pounced on him. If that quoted part is correct, then I don't see how anybody can be held responsible apart from the boy's stupidity.
beetle
Really sad. Chilling pics. According to eyewitness....the tiger just stood close for sometime till some one hit the tiger with a stone.(probably to shoo it away) when it got aggressive and caught him my the neck and dragged him away. G_B_
I have seen such dumb behavior in the mumbai locals as well. plenty of empty seats. some guys love leaning off the edge and falling off moving trains. Indian society has a safety problem. Seen this so many places.

coffee_rules
Lot of locals don't pay heed to even the minimal safety standards. On a recent India visit, I heard more about the AP college students who were swept from the dam release in HP. They were warned as well by the locals, but these guys wanted to take one stupid picture to post on FB/YT or some such stupid site. The crave for attention in SM is getting out of control. hhunaeh
he was drunk and jumped in is what i read. Barriers to keep stupid people out is needed as much as barriers to keep wild animals in.
