Book_Worm
I did it 5 years ago and i am very very happy about it. I did it at LV PRASAD EYE hospital hyderabad. What is your brother's age? Better to do it when young above 21 so that u can enjoy spectacle free life for a long time cause once u enter your 40' most people develop eye problems. The surgery itself is very painless few minutes in duration make it 15 -20 mins. After the surgery u are given dark glasses and eye drops. U have to wear those glasses for a week no TV reading etc for a week and eye drops every 4 hours for a week . That's all. Any top Eye hospital in india will do , no need to go to singapore etc. Best of luck.

Detonator
Eye keratectomy has become so advanced in India, so worry not Delhi AIIMS is as good as a singapore counterpart. Be aware that the surgeon is going to make a corneal incision with laser, so the results does have some complications. Also, the lasik is irrereversible. The most common is dry eye syndrome and one might develop double vision with age. There are only possible risks, and many patients had no sideffects after the keratectomy. Also if your brother has a very high refractive error, LASIK is not recommended, please consult this with your doctor.

So I would say this procedure is completely dependent on evaluation.
AmreekanDesi
yes my broher is nearing 30 now. will be 30 in feb so I guess its a good time for him. and yes he's had the evaluation and everything and just needs to take the plunge of actually going through the procedure. but our mom keeps bringing up these nightmare scenarios she keeps finding on the internet and doesn't want him to do it. ill prolly wait for a good few years until I graduate and am earning on my own as I wouldn't want my parents to pay for what is essentially a luxury/comsetic procedure. The expenses are very less and India has the requisite technology for that. Just make sure that the hospital you go to is the best in the city. Most cities have a famous eye specialist/hospital that everyone goes to. In Hyderabad everyone recommended LV prasad and there were 2 more hospital equally good i went for LV because it was nearer to my place.
