randomGuy
He was still an automatic selection for test matches in India like Rohit Sharma. It was the away test matches as well as the captaincy tht was the problem. Playing only home test matches could have worked i guess. Link to comment
Mindreader
Dhoni directly proportional to srini, hence proved Link to comment

CSK Fan
Kumble retired mid series. Dhoni just didn't wanted to do staged drama of inviting West Indies for rigged farewell series :winky: That is because this is not Dhoni's big retirement, he is still an active player. He will get a big retirement too at home (or after a world cup win) hopefully Link to comment

IKnowU
Should have at least played as a keeper/batsmen Link to comment
Austin 3:!6
Kumble retired because of an injury that he knew he would not recover from. Wrong. He was asked to retire as Dhoni was young captain as a fresh air that time. What injury? He continued to play IPL :dontknow: Link to comment
rkt.india
Dont think so. He will continue in ODIs for a while because he enjoys that format a lot more. Dont think he enjoys cricket anymore. So many responsibilities have taken a toll on him. He looks 45 year old than a 33 year old. Link to comment
Haarkarjeetgaye
good for himself but horrible for the team. Should have waited for this series and then retired after WC from both tests and ODI Link to comment

Gambit
Wrong. He was asked to retire as Dhoni was young captain as a fresh air that time. What injury? He continued to play IPL :dontknow: Anil Kumble has announced his retirement from cricket, saying the finger injury he sustained on the third day of the Test helped him make his decision. The news was made public minutes after the tea break on the final day; Kumble then bowled four overs before the match was called off as a draw. "The body was asking questions every day," he said. "It was not easy to keep bowling the way I have been bowling the last 18 years, to keep going. The injury I had on the third day probably helped me make the decision." http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/story/376672.html Link to comment
CoverDrive
this makes the last test interesting. Aussies will again go hard at Kohli who will also try to impose himself. Link to comment
Lannister
I don't know why but I am feeling sad, although I made some hate comments against his captaincy. Link to comment

CoverDrive
Best MSD test captain moment was defeating AUssies in Nagpur where he put a 8-2 field to frustrate them and stuck to the plan all day Link to comment
