brendan07
hes 33 Which means there is no point. Who out of your top 6 doesn't deserve a spot. Surely your first gamer deserves more the 1 game and you have youngsters doing what Yuvraj is doing domestically. Link to comment

vijay50
Dhawan , Rohit Sharma are young great players. What did they do? Make a grand total of 20 runs per innings outside India. Even Sehwag can make what these great players are making. Link to comment
velu
sehwag is 36 and as much as i love him , i dont want him to make a comeback.. though we will be playing all our matches in india for considerable amt of time Link to comment

putrevus
None of them deserve to be back in the team, they are done let them be done and ride into sunset. One guy I had hope was Gambhir but England tour proved he is done. Link to comment

Texan
Why does OP get the impression that Dhoni had a "key hand" in removing Gambhir, Sehwag, Harbhajan and Zaheer? :hmmm: In fact, Dhoni tried his level best to get Gambhir back in the team. In SA, when Gambhir was not even in the squad, in a press conference, Dhoni said that Gambhir was his back-up opener. When told that Gambhir was not even in the squad, he said that he will stick to his answer. He made the selectors pick Gambhir again for England and gave him a chance as soon as Dhawan's form dipped. Eventually, Gambhir flopped miserably and there was no way Dhoni was going to convince anybody to retain Gambhir this time. As for Sehwag, after his eyesight got weak and his hand-eye co-ordination was no longer the same, the journey was over. For Zaheer, injuries put him out of the team for long spells and even when not injured, he was hopelessly unfit. Lastly, on Harbhajan - he had been keeping his place in the team for a long time despite having no performances of note for his last 5 - 6 years. After Ashwin came along and was successful in India, it was end of the road for Harbhajan. Link to comment
Texan
In short, Dhoni had absolutely no hand in getting these people out of the team. Link to comment
Shivaji bhonsle
Nothing doing. Kohli doesn't have any authority like Dhoni in selection matters. Even Kohli wouldn't want the old brigade. Link to comment

CSK Fan
Gambhir etc would be a challenge for Kohli's position. So he would prefer younger players he can control Link to comment
