Take a look at these news articles: http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=324162 http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=324168 http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=324089 http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=323698 These kind of news used to be there in my times too ( late 80s/mid 90s), though one had to look into the 4th page of TOI or Telegraph to find it. Over the last several years, these news are getting to a psychotic level of frequency. Yes, its part fear mongering and the modern news channel phenomenon in India has lead to sensationalization of news, agenda-driven news services, etc. We need to do something and we need to do something fast. Before we do something about it, we should realize the nature of the problem. The problem is NOT: 1. Islam is evil 2. hinduvta is evil 3. corruption is evil 4. cheating is evil. All those may be true, may be present in society but that is NOT the problem! The problem, IMO is a much simpler one than that. The problem is simply this: People in India are acting like epic d!cks and getting away with it. THAT and that alone ties together the common miscreant aspect of all the news stories above. So what is the solution ? 1.The solution is NOT finding social manna and making everyone love each other type of hippie dippie nonsense. Millions of hours of collective yoga, interfaith dialogue or speeches will do nothing to change it. Because these type of things are 'preventative measures' towards people acting like d!cks, not curative measures. 2. The solution is not 'maaro saale ko!' syndrome either. Getting more barbaric will not solve the issues, it will just make us like them. Dadagiri is not stopped because of violent & mortifying punishments, it is stopped by effective enforcement of the law. Don't believe me ? Look it up. Till you do, consider this fact: What does Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have in common ? They both follow sharia law and believe in chopping body parts and stoning people to death for crimes as a part of their LAW. What does Norway and Saudi Arabia have in common ? They both have high success rates of finding, apprehending and delivering ruling of the law to the perpetrators. This is why Saudi Arabia has a minuscule level of crime, like Norway but Pakistan is rife with criminality. Not because their laws are not 'tough enough' on criminals, they simply suck at catching them and delivering the legal verdict swiftly enough to make them give a damn. So There we have it , the solution is simple: We need better and more urgent dispensation of the LAW. Indian society is straining at the seams because of three major ills: A population too big to support its dreams, a largely unregulated society where law sucks and a low level of taxation for deriving government revenues. TBH, i don't think it takes a genius to figure out how to make Law and Order better in India. To make an immediate difference, this is a simple formula: 1.Increase ALL police, crown counsels & judges pay by 10-15%. The better paid they are, the less likely they are to succumb to financial corruption. 2. Increase the total manpower of judges, crown counsels and policemen by 1% every year for the next 20 years. 3. Open more law schools in India to accommodate the growth in demand created by steps 1 & 2. This and only this, ladies and gentlemen, can save us. The difference in society between the west and india is this salient feature of western society that it has been practicing for atleast the last 100-125 years: their dispensation of justice is a much swifter and consistent process. And frankly, i think Indian budget has ignored this aspect of Indian development for too long. It needs to rise very very fast to the top 2-3 budgetary priorities and stay there for the next 20 years. Only then, in our lifetime, will we have a peaceful, prosperous India where adults are held accountable for their actions more.

Even simpler solution is if Indian get rid of the infamous "chalta hai' attitude and stand up for the right things At the end of the day, if everyone (irrespective of his religion, caste, etc.) stands up (and does) the right things, I guess, many of the problems will take care of itself .... Also imparting the correct education (not just about 2+2 = 4, but also about rights and responsibilities) is the key. In India, many folks talk about their rights but not their responsibilities And I agree that better policing and implementation of laws will help as well .... An Indian who spits on walls in India, will not do that in Singapore. There is no need to guess what the reason for that is :P

1, Find an alternative for Petrol 2, Make Saudi less rich hence less generous. 3, Take Indian population out of radical Islam 4, Crush any form of Hindu fanaticism. 5, Push for uniform civil code 6, Abolish religion from public life and politics In that order.

Can't happen in India I'm afraid. Would also add curbing missionary activities and setting up of NGOs. Uncompromisingly screen them before granting permission. Those who are allowed to carry out their activities, have the NSA and RAW on their cases.

Close all temples' date=' masjids and churches. That should solve all problems. Religion is poison. What good did we get out of it.[/quote'] Mao already tried that in 1966 of cultural revolution .It failed badly they went back to religious freedom

1 Increasing pay is not going to help.In 1970s and 80s Indian govt employees were much poorly paid then what they are now. These days pay in govt is sector is quite good but still corruption has not gone down.Corruption start from mind. When people see so many around with big money, they too think why I don't have and this lead to corruption." Sab le rahe hain to main kyon naa loon" is the mentality. No matter how much pay you increase they will induldge in corruption.

Countries like USA are no role model for controlling crime. 3-4% of its population is in prison or in some sort correctional home.despite justice and police of a developed nation country has very high crime rate. So don't think efficient police or judiciary will solve the problem of crime. .As far crime like the Hindu man killed. concerned no amount of justice will solve that because they emerge from social mentality. villagers in India live in close social circle. When a girl from any family do something like this then it means social death for them .By committing these type of murder they may emerge villain in the eyes of liberal population of cities , but in the eyes of their fellow villagers and relatives they become heroes. And many times it is not the family some villagers too may help helping hand by killing them in return of some monetory compensation from the family

No they didn't. China doesn't allow to practice religion openly. They have lot of underground churches. Atleast Chinese don't kill each other like Indians , pakis or bangbros.

Open debate, that's the first step that is needed. We need open debate about uniform civil code, Article 370, religion conversions. And "open" firstly implying a fair representation where all parties can have a say. Currently, we have debates but it's just the same group of leftists each time talking about these issues. Secondly, openly imply fearless debate, and today, we avoid many such discussions due to the fear of Mullaahs and their violence. The public needs to be provided with complete truths rather than half truths our media shows. First step has got to be provide public with correct information and make them aware about such problems. And then only, we can think about ways to solve it.

India is such a mess, largely uneducated perfectly gullible population and most corrupt polity. God knows we need a dictator or single party rule, someone who can crush all forms of religious bigotry,

Close all temples' date=' masjids and churches. That should solve all problems. Religion is poison. What good did we get out of it.[/quote'] It is not religion that is the problem but it is the people who use religion to advance their interests and thus create problems for others .... If there is no religion, these people will find something else to create problems for others Overall, Religion has a net positive impact as it keeps more people on the right path (and happy). Religion when used correctly is a powerful tool as seen from the example below: dxShGmPuHPk

i am a bit of a evangelist sympathizer' date=' just a rabid alternative for Islamist IMO.[/quote'] They are 5 times more dangerous. Islam provides more of a coercive threat, inconvenient, but you can deal with them in a straight forward manner. The hardcore Evangelists and Baptists are proper snakes. They carry out cultural genocide, far far more dangerous.
