Gollum
- Members of Sri Lanka's women's cricket team were forced to perform sexual favours to keep their places in the team - The ministry said evidence of sexual harassment was uncovered in an investigation begun last year. - It was launched following reports a player had been dropped for refusing to have sex with cricketing officials. - Two cricket officials in Sri Lanka will be prosecuted for allegedly asking women players to have sex with them to keep their places in the national team. - Under Sri Lankan law, anyone found guilty of sexual harassment can face up to five years in prison plus an unspecified fine. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-32858940 http://www.hindustantimes.com/cricketnews/sri-lanka-probe-finds-evidence-of-sex-bribes-in-women-s-cricket-team/article1-1350238.aspx http://thenewdaily.com.au/sport/2015/05/25/sri-lankan-women-cricketers-pressured-sex/ And now this: Sri Lanka cricket officials escape criminal action - Sri Lanka's cricket body said it will not press charges against officials accused of sexually harassing players for the national women's team, despite an investigation finding instances of harassment. - The statement said the board did not extend the contracts of the officials in question. http://zeenews.india.com/sports/cricket/no-criminal-proceedings-against-sri-lanka-officials-in-sex-bribe_1602805.html http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/sex-bribe-scandal-sri-lankan-cricket-officials-escape-criminal-action/1/440674.html Shameful really. Pray that this doesn't happen in our country but I suspect these nonsense activities are rampant in all South Asian countries. :(( Link to comment
G_B_
shameful but wont be surprised if this is the case as you said in most south asian countries. I hope the BCCI takes Women's cricket more seriously. While the boys where being thumped by England, the girls beat the English in a test series. Link to comment
Gollum
shameful but wont be surprised if this is the case as you said in most south asian countries. I hope the BCCI takes Women's cricket more seriously. While the boys where being thumped by England, the girls beat the English in a test series. Indeed that was a remarkable achievement. England has lost only 2 test series at home since the turn of the millennia and both times they lost to us, not Australia, not New Zealand but India !!!!! While our pampered men's team continue to get their ***es kicked every single time they step out of India our women who have been abandoned by BCCI since their march to the finals of WWC 2005 have made us proud. Our ODI/T20 game is very weak, thanks no less to apathy on part of the greedy people who run BCCI. We used to be in the same bracket as Aus,Eng,NZ 10-15 years back but now WI,Lanka have overtaken us and even RSA are as good or bad as us depending on how you put it. But our game in the real format, test cricket is still very good. You will be surprised to know that we are 3-1 against them in test cricket out of 14 matches while our men are some 20-44 or something like that. We have negative H2H only against Australia compared to our men who have negative H2H against Aus,Eng,RSA,Pak,WI. :hatsoff: Link to comment
