Austin 3:!6
So as it happened, a suicide bomber with a mission to injure the touring Zimbabwe cricketers blown himself up outside the stadium. The match was going on and there were almost 50K people inside. What PCB did then was nothing less than shameful. They told a blatant lie to everyone that its a transformer blast. They tried to hide the terrorist attack and let everyone believe that Pakistan is safe for cricket. As a result of PCB's lie, we have the following responses from Pak fans in this forum: For God's sake use some sense. It's not a terrorist activity. And what is sad is that people like your are waiting for something to happen just so that you can criticise it. Bro, you do know that u r on ICF ? So, few ICFers got Excited about Explosion news in Pakistan, Thats it .... You see this? This is what PCB has done by blatantly lying and making people believe everything is hunky dory. Absolutely shameful and PCB must man up and say its a terrorist attack. We are not able to prevent a blast even after providing presidential security. Now BBC, ESPNCricinfo, FICA and even Pak minister has confirmed it was a terrorist attack. Where will you run now PCB? Link to comment
Debutant
What do you expect from a country who denies to even acknowledge their own soldiers who died in the battle field and accept their dead bodies. You should not be surprised by these antics. Link to comment

HippoSucks
It was a good move when the match was going on. Informing everyone of the suicide blast at that time could cause panic among the crowd and would interrupt the match (although interrupting the match at such a time wouldn't be a terrible decision). But afterwards the confusion without any concrete statement from some person of authority, and the rumors that it could have also been a cylinder blast, have made this a horrendous coverup... BeautifulGame
They initially said this this to avoid any panic among the crowd gathered .Otherwise could have resulted in stampede Link to comment
Malcolm Merlyn
Sensible move to avoid a stampede. Link to comment
G_B_
Wise move i would say had they said terrorist attack there would have been chaos with the crowd present. After the event and when the stadium was empty etc they did acknowledge it so thats fair. Link to comment
Pravda
If PCB is so sensitive about the Stamp pede and etc and concerning about its people, the wise decision should be followed to abondoned the 3rd ODI and inspite of it the PCB did another bribery of sort to make the 3rd ODI which was not in any wise humanitarian standards To be frank if there was any ayota of chance to cover up this attack the PCB would have used, as they were blindly caught by media of the attack, they succomed and acepted the attack People were died and still they wanted to project Paki is safe and proceed with entertaining in the manner of 3rd ODI Think about the families who lost their loved ones will they rejoice by seeing the 3rd ODI Very Pathetic PCB Link to comment
Zero_Unit
In one sense I understand why it was announced as a transformer while the match was ongoing - to avoid a stampede. But by doing so, they proved to the world that they are liars and not just that, cricket over there is unsafe! But what really bothers me about this situation is that after the attempt was made, PCB themselves should have told ZIM to gtfo of there since one attempt was already made. I have never understood this till today and will never understand this. It seems like alot of PAK fans/citizens/PCB alike wants cricket to return to their country and PROVIDE MAX SECURITY. Do they understand that by doing so, you automatically show that its is a WARZONE the players are stepping in. It means, without MAX SECURITY, the players are not safe and could potentially be a victim of a bomb blast and even worst. Do they understand what kind if strain it puts in a human being? I am super against bringing cricket back to a X country by sacrificing lives of others, be it even one. That's not right. Link to comment

HippoSucks
didnt they accept later and say they did so to avoid panic and a stampede in the stadium resulting in more loss of life? Yes the information minister said that but then reports said the tour was back on schedule because it was supposedly just a cylinder blast. Link to comment
Pravda
After accepting the attack, it was said as Cylinder blast Then PCB angry on the minister, and saying on record the minister shud have seen the image of Paki before going to media, ...... Pathetic PCB,no wonder they ask the world to help for their problems Link to comment

CoverDrive
lack of co-ordination between the agencies. what you put out in the media is very important at such times. it is good to let the match get over before tell about the news. multiple false accounts confuses people and shakes confidence in the authorities.
