^ MILITANT wings of the BJP (ABVP,VHP, sundry Sena's etc ) have been trying to put a stop to that for over a decade. I recall many years ago ABVP criminals brutally thrashed a brother and sister who were eating at a restaurant after arriving at Lucknow . It happened to be Feb 14th.

Crack down in Gujarat on couples booking hotel rooms :

Jul 21 2015 AHMEDABAD: Gujarat chief minister Anandiben Patel on Monday said that Ahmedabad police should launch a drive against hotels that allow youths to book rooms on hourly basis. "The intention is always suspicious whenever a hotel room is booked for two to three hours. I request police to take action against hotels that permit such wrongdoing in their premises," Patel said addressing an event to commemorate the 51st anniversary of Government Girl's Polytechnic.
The Great Snooper will now monitor what couples are doing in their hotel rooms . In the words of the CM of Gujarat : "The intention is always suspicious whenever a hotel room is booked for two to three hours"

Nice to see "Aam aadmi"s coming out and opposing this initiative. I am sure they are more than happy to let children have uninhibited access to pornography.
It'll also be nice to see Pappu becoming PM after a major Modi screwup without establishing himself or Party at the centre... Trying to do things as if it is running out of time and won't again come to power...

Aam aadmis will surely be happier if the government comes up with measures to prevent children having access to porn than impose a blanket ban. You yourself have proposed a solution, couldn't others have similar views?
My view is that the ISPS should be able to license access to such sites - if a user wanted to access porn' date=' he/she can make an application showing he/she is above 18 yrs of age - for a small fee.[/quote'] ISPs should offer free services to have content filters on the data being consumed. It's up to the parents to ensure they have the necessary porn filters installed before they provide internet access to their children.

Fair point. The reaction on twitter/facebook/internet is limited to online denizens - but I am pretty sure a huge majority including women will welcome a ban on porn. And porn has now started to become even more voyeuristic - including hidden cam stuff and rape videos. Add to it the ever increasing penetration of internet in the form of mobile access - that even 10 yr old kids are now getting exposed to such stuff. That is extremely scary. Children these days are accessing porn not just on their home computers but also on mobiles and other devices. Further they can also access it via other sources - like an internet cafe. Having an "opt in / opt out" service with default being "opt out" will help significantly reduce the chances of exposing children to such stuff. I am not claiming such a thing is 100% fail proof, but I think it's the best available situation.

Can't believe that Gujrat CM herself is bothering with a "serious" issue like this. :headshake:
