Silva
The way I see it Rohit T20I is similar to his ipl record. His ODI record is more or less the same as his list a record. So maybe his test record will be similar to his first class record? Theirs alot of bad ODI players that are great in Tests. they are two different formats. Link to comment
someone
Well, he is showing all signs like Sehwag. Both were middle order batsman, struggled and got promoted. And never looked back. Hopefully Rohit Sharma can show he is good enough consistently and make this opening slot permanent. He doesn't need to be super aggressive like Sehwag but at least good enough like currently he has shown. India needs Rohit Sharma to do well, in 2015 WC, we are likely to have 2 new openers. Where Rohit seems to on the Sehwag pattern. While Dhawan is ditto like Gambhir ---- Late bloomer. Link to comment
CG
Rohit is the next Tendulkar.Suck on that haters:hatsoff: You can see how he playing sensible cricket and has cut on his loose shots. He has reduced his batlift which has made his game tighter. He just needs to relax a bit. Also Dhoni deserves credit for backing him. Playing pull shots seems to come naturally to him whereas Gambhir plays the short ball so awkwardly. Link to comment
saneindian
Was watching the highlights of his last two innings. Some of his shots with the high backlift have a slight resemblance to how Kallis plays those shots, especially the front foot drive and its followthrough. Link to comment
MCcricket
He should have been in the test team far earlier, with Sachin gone, Rohit, Kartik, Rayudu, Sehwag if playing well should be in the picture Link to comment

His front foot game on fuller balls still needs to get better. His upright stance some times makes him a bit late on full length balls. Link to comment
Crookbond
Rohit is still "very" susceptible to the ball swinging around. Link to comment

Sachinism
Still would've preferred Pujara instead of Rohit Link to comment

jj_28
Rohit Sharma needs to start converting these 30-40s into 100s, if he can do that then he's got a great career ahead of him When Pujara comes into this team will he played as our no.3 or no.4? Link to comment
Manny_Pacquiao
since becoming an opener in january, he has scored 423 runs @ 42.30, with 4 fifties in 11 matches. he has been involved in 3 100+ opening stands. its not bad, but then his highest score is only 83 (vs ENG at mohali) and SR is 70. from a team point of view, you can see why they still persist with him. good runner between the wickets, good communication with shikhar and a good fielder. doesn't score big but will hold up an end at the very least. i still think there are openers out there who could do better but maybe he isn't doing as bad as ppl think? i might be judging him too harshly on his individual stats. big individual scores look nice on the scorecard but partnerships are more valuable. vvvslaxman
He didn't convert starts... that is the only issue. Otherwise he has justified his selection. He may not be like Ganguly/Tendulkar/Gambhir/Sehwag to unfurl 100s at this point. Good enough to make 30/40 runs.. But this is not enough he should know. India's strength is batting. Openers are expected to be match winners. So he has turn it around soon. Link to comment
Yoda-esque
Sharma's batting reminds of the Pak batting style.. Painfully slow and outdated for this. Day and age Tuk tuk and then unfurls a sixes from nowhere Too flaky , that means he crumbles under pressure Link to comment
