Not some areas almost the whole of Chennai , power has been cut .Apart from Airtel no other tower is working either .Couldn't contact friends for last 3 days & they just msged today saying they r K ..U can imagine how the situation is like for most.

The situation is really sad .Some are using the situation to make as much money as they can.

Milk 1 litre is selling Rs.100 vegetables 200 and stuff like that .Hotels are charging Rs.500 rooms for 5000.No ATMs working so no money either

Really frustrating

Third biggest metro is drowning is not news because Gungadeens of the MSM can't seem to frame it properly in there outsider worldview. (Srinagar floods was news because region is a hot button for foreign correspondents. Assam wasn't, just is like Bihar never is or cyclone in AP wasn't or drought in Maha never is. These topics are irrelevant to their masters' eyes sitting in the west)

There is a reason why Dravidian parties used to say that they are not Indians. When north Indian English media ignores such tragedy, you wonder if they were right. Bloody media people were having discussions on Amir khan.

It's on every news channel now. No one earlier really knew or realized the severity of the situation, I would say.

Agree , even Tamil colleagues here in Bangalore never talked about severity till this issue got coverage from MSM.

I guess the initial flood situation is passed as one time event , but what happened this week shook everyone.

Finally some good news

CHENNAI: After days of chaos, there was finally some relief for the flood-battered people of Chennai, as a break in rain overnight helped reduce water levels of the Adyar and Kumbh rivers, thus easing large-scale flooding.

While intermittent rain has been forecast for Chennai over the next 24 hours, coastal and interior Tamil Nadu will receive more rain in that period.

NDRF chief O P Singh said the situation had improved in the city overnight as water levels in many areas receded. There was a sharp fall in the discharge of waters from Chembarapakkam, Pondi and Puzhal lakes as well, leading to reduction in the water levels of the two rivers that criss-cross the city.

MSM is way too focused towards Delhi.
