You remember Ishant's first test. He was only bowling 130-135, never really went quicker than that. He played in Sydney, there too, he was bowling at around 135K only. Even at Perth he was mainly 135-138K range but he got seam off the deck. But after that spell to Ponting, suddenly got something into him and he bowled very quick at Adelaide, his quickest in that test was 147 and he kept getting better and in triseries, he clocked up to 152. His pace stayed up for about 1 year but as soon as he lost that rhythm he was in, he lost that pace.

Well, he certainly bowled real fast during and immediately after that spell to Punter and co.

very bad place to hold the tournament at this time of the year. Team winning the toss always  has an advantage weather it is a day match or a day-night match. Win toss, win match.

Nehra's fastest was 149 in 2003 WC. That was the only time, Nehra bowled really quick.

Yes. 2 matches - Eng and Zim  - in particular.

It is likely to be the speed gun issue as rkt.india points out. However, methinks that some laziness is also involved.

most bowlers dont bowl at their quickest in domestics because there is a lot of wear and tear. Fatigue sets in. At the end of a long season, bowlers do slow down. Because there are too many matches in a very short span of time with lot of travelling and very little rest. Lot of time bowlers bowl within themselves to conserve and not get injured. IPL coming too, so, they wont want to get injured. It happens everywhere, not just India. I have seen likes of Siddle and Bollinger bowling at 125K in their domestic matches.

Did you watch Negi bowl today ?  Is a good enough to be a proper bowler in ODIs ?

didnt watch much of him. I have seen him in IPL. He isnt a bad bowler but every left arm spinner needs some help from the pitch like Jaddu but Jaddu is one dimensional bowler who only bowls quick through the air. Negi can slow down and can bowl quicker when needed. has better action.

Interesting. Watched only one of his overs today but he turned a couple of deliveries. Got 3 wickets too.

If this guy can become our bowling allrounder, we will have a more powerful lower-middle order in LOIs.

Jadeja is probably a better bowler than Negi in subcontinental pitches but Negi is a much better batsman than Jaddu. I think Negi can fit into that spinning AR role much better than Jaddu.

What was Nathu's fastest ball today ?

Did he bowl a few above 137 k ?

Did he bowl some good bouncers ?

I started watching the match when Nathu had already bowled 3 overs. So don't know what pace he bowled in his first 3 overs. But he bowled a few over 137K in his 4th over.

He bowled a few good bouncers to Rayudu. One of them was a nasty bouncer which Rayudu didn't have a clue.
