What good did Pak achieve with 4 quicks?  Its not like we benched Mohammed Amir for jadeja.  

This..

Could have argued about this in match against Bangladesh..

But Jaddu picked up 2 wickets with his fielding is additional advantage..

Could have restricted Pakistan at 70 most with Ashwin not giving those free runs in his last over.

The only strange thing was Ashwin coming late to bowl. He is a strike bowler who should have come much earlier to bowl (in the first 10 overs).

Pakistan had a high quality and in-form T20 batting line up reeling at 8 for 3.  If Kohli was given out to one of the 50:50 appeals,  we would have been in far bigger trouble with only Dhoni left among experienced batters.

Just look at how a mediocre pacer like Pandya performed here because of the seamer-friendly pitch and conditions. His bowling figures are actually better than Amir ( 3 for 8 in 3 and a 1/2 overs )

Ind won the match so obviously the thread is not entirely based on that result. If you read the OP, you would see that the key point is that India keeps getting out of the jail based on good performances by a few good players. Team's strategy and tactics are not always spot on. Also you have to factor in questions such as what if Ind had batted first (bowled second).

In the context of this game, playing conditions and 11, a stronger batting line up would have performed better against Ind which did not play bowlers as per the conditions and allowed thing to drift for a while. And Pak's batting too could have done better if not for the pressure of playing against Ind. 

Assuming that a stronger line up would have scored at least 50% more, the results could have been different. By playing bowlers as per the conditions, Ind would be acquiring the ability to bowl our / restrict even stronger batting line ups to totals which are within the range of its batsmen. 

At the end of the day, it is just 2 or 3 good balls that separated the two teams. And on this surface, the chances of getting those two or three more good balls are pretty high. Therefore a team needs to play bowlers who can provide more chances of getting those balls in. 

 If you really asked that question, you probably missed the point of the thread.

I don't understand what's the need to play jadeja or yuvi .ashwin as spinner is enough,if needed raina or yuvi can bowl some overs of spin ,what's the need of jadeja on these pitches? Neither is he required to bat

Its Crystal clear you need to show flexibility in your team selection and play 4 pacers on these green tops,Pakistan played 4 pacers,srl amd even Bangladesh are playing 4 pacers.Only dhoni is reluctant to play the extra seamer,he should straight away drop 1 of yuvi or jadeja and play booby in these conditions.on one of the day Pakistani or sri lanka might score of our spinners and get to 130 ,that time we would be cussing of not playing the extra seamer on an ideal pitch.

Off course the team combo for wt20 is fixed and it is the current playing 11 ,not disputing but at least show flexibility in the team selection for this tournament because the pitches aint the same as we get back home

Defending a low target might become even more tricky for india in the second innings because of the dew factor ,so msd will be forced to bowl at least 8 overs of spin(with the current playing 11 we field) which the opposition will find rather easy to milk than say a fourth seamer .

these are ideal conditions for fast bowlers,only 1 spinner is enough
