World cup almost over for India

Recommended Posts

Leg spinners are able to pick alot of wickets in this WC (Afridi, Rashid). India missing Mishra here big time. He can replace Jadeja .

You must be joking... Jaddu will play whether team goes to next round or not... Dhoni hates Leg Spinners and especially Mishra...

Other scenario

Aus 3 wins - NZ, Pak and BD

Ind 3 wins - Pak, BD and Aus

Pak 2 wins - BD and NZ

NZ 2 wins - Ind and BD

This seems the most logical

So Aus and NZ is crucial. We are hoping for Aus to win but NZ already beat us so why not hope for NZ to win all 4 games and pakis to beat Aus and we beat all 3?

I think we should support good cricket. Hopefully the most entertaining teams, along with those that get their strategies and selection right, will be the last four

There is no point in hoping for a donkey to run like a horse :deadhorse:  .... Let the team show it can run hard too in this competition. Past records don't matter much

exactly,if they are good enough they will make it ,

Aus vs NZ is at Dharamsala where pitch may assist the seamers. Kiwis start as favorites in that match.

Its amazing of ICF that how guys change their mood. Its okay that Pandey scored Century in last match of Australia tour, but some time ago, everybody here was writing him off as a 'hack' and now out of nowhere, he is supposed to be best batsman in middle order. Yuvi isn't doing that bad now, he is certainly getting his rhythm back. Give him chance at no.4, he will do good. Its Raina who is struggling big time. Haven't seen a big innings from him barring that in last T20 against Aussies. Also Mishra is not a big match player. He always struggles in crunch situations. Attack him a bit initially and he will be on low confidence through out the match. I would have liked if Indians unleashed Kuldeep Yadav in this tournament. He would have given some novelty to Indian attack just like Bumrah did and teams would have taken time to adjust to his chinamen. Mishra comes, performs for 2-3 matches and then again becomes average. He doesn't seem to be long term option. We should invest in youngsters.

It shows that people are flexible and value current form

The discussion is not about whether Panday is a heck. It is about having players who are in form and in high confidence in squad. If Panday does not perform, replace him too. No one is saying, he is the answer to Ind' problems. What is the point in not having inform players who are high in confidence in squad for a major tourney?

Yuvi and Raina are already in the squad and getting opportunities. Hopefully, they will step up and not be content with scoring 10-20 runs. Both of them wasted opportunity in the last game

Yeah, Kuldeep is a good option too.

Ind should also stop complaining about pitches. In BD, we complained that pitches were such that they did not get practise. You guys could not even do much on surfaces you have practise playing on and vs a team that has little practise.

NZ came to Ind w/o practising on turners but had the sense of playing the right players for the conditions. Thanks NZ for the lesson to our team management which they would have not learned.

Some of these guys act as if they are doing favors by walking on to the field. And that the conditions have to adjust as per the playing 11 we want to play!

It's like we want to play this 11. If you want us to do well, give us the conditions that we love. If not, we will perform disasterously. Thank you for following us so passionately!

In the current squad, do we even have a X factor player as a batsman? Other than Pandya ofcourse?

I am afraid no. Today's match between WI and Eng showed that even England has big hitters which we don't. Can't rely on MSD and Pandya every match to give the final push when we bat first and setting up a total.

Since the next games are at Kol, B'lore and Mohali, the team would perform better. The question is would it be good enough to get it in to the SF?

Simple strategy, make Pak chase a big total and win by a big margin/ at least win.

Bat first against Bangladesh and bat them out of the contest and win big.

Beat Aus in Mohali in a spinner helpful track.

Easier said than done maybe, but this should be the roadmap to qualify.

The messed up team selection has got us in this situation. What was the need to play 3 seamers including Pandya on a spinner-friendly pitch. We could've played additional batsman in place of Pandya and brought in Negi in place of Nehra.

Even with all the drubbings Dhoni received on overseas tours, he never learned a damn thing as a captain. What have we done wrong to put up with this useless joker?

Pandya plays as a batsman. His bowling is bonus.

Going by pottential:

1. Bongs have pottential to win atleast 1/3 game.

2. Pakis have pottential to win 2/3 games

3. Kiwis have pottential to win atleast 1/3 games

4. Aussies have pottential to win all 4 games.

So chance of India going next round is allmost next to impossible. World Cup is over for us unless we ensure Aussies arent upto pottential

There's really a no difference between him and Jadja. Its obvious he struggles against spin, team management should've seen to it.

Everyone struggled against spin last game. Any other batsman who had played would have struggled too. NO matter which batsman you play, if pitch is like this, he will struggle. How quickly you forgot Pandya thrashing Senanayke at Ranchi when he changed the fate of the match with a quick partnership with Rohit. He is there to play in those kind of situations.

Hardik Pandya is the god sent BOON for india..

He is india's most valuable player...his replacements binny and rishi dhawan are way behind him.

he is bowling between 135 to 142k and batting very well...let me not say much about his fielding as he competes with jadeja as india's best fielder now a days.

if india needs to drop ..only weak link seems to be uvraj

Pandyas batting as worse as Jadeja. Making 0s most of the time.

NZ wins so it means that Ind and OZ cannot win 3 games each

Pak is yet unbeaten, while BD has 3 games in hand as well though its NRR is as bad as Ind's at the moment

Only possible scenario where India wins three games and still go out would be, Pakistan winning against both NZ and Aus, which is not impossible. Then if NZ beat Bang, NZ,  Pak and India would be having three win each. Then NRR comes into play. Hope we improve our NRR above one of these countries to be in safer side.

Ideally, a thrashing of Pak needed on Saturday, to be in a assured position.

Today's win means that NZ are almost through to semifinals unless they lose to Bangladesh. I think they should make it.

Leaves only either India/Pak/Aus will go through. Means it is not all SC show this WT20. One SC team will most likely bow out unless NZ lose their remaining games.

India-Pak T20 will be real test for indians, a high pressure , last game lost, WT20 , home crowd. If India did well tomorrow, then world cup is still alive. Defeating AUS is not a big deal at it was done 3 times in last 3 encountered. BangBros will not be too hard to defect.

I have high hope for Team India.

This kind of crap was littered everywhere for last year's ODI world cup also...

Would it be a World Cup if not for these kind of  insane pattern finding between the WC winning year and current years??  :icflove:

More than last year, It was 2003 WC where the comparison with 1983 was more prominent. Last year, more than us, it was Pak fans who indulged more in this. Which leads me to believe, have these patterns ever become fruitful?

What are these numbers here??

The years where we have won and going to win WT20.. :giggle:

It will be difficult to qualify for the semifinals because India's net run rate won't increase too much by this match.

We will win 3 matches and qualify without any issues

 At this point

NZ 2 wins + 2 more games vs. Pak and BD (so most likey to qualify and deserving so)

Pak 1 win + 2 more games vs NZ and Aus (so two tough games)

Ind 1 win + 2 games vs BD and Aus

Aus 0 wins + 3 games vs BD, Pak and Ind

BD 0 wins + games vs Aus, Ind and NZ

@rett

WHat happens if Pak win the remaining games, will we be fighting with them based on NRR for the 2nd place? Correct?

And if NZ beats BD, it would be a 3 way race among those teams .... Ofc NZ would have a stronger NRR than at least one of the teams
