Best t20 innings of all time

One of the best definitely. The great part about Kohli's batting is that he makes it look so easy. No forcing shots, no slogs across the line, no reverse sweeps, no scoops. Just plain strokes in the gaps to find the boundary seasoned with tapping the ball around for singles and twos. He makes it look like a stroll in the park.

He could have easily panicked if not for Dhoni whose calm presence ensured that he kept his cool. Remember, even in the 19th over, 20 runs were needed.

Sorry, but Samuels' innings at 2012 WT20 is still the best. All odds were against him at that day: Finals, Slow pitch, pathetic start, opposition's home ground, but he produced a gem there.

Yes that is also one of my favorites. But innings in high pressure chase always have that heroic look which innings while batting first can't.

Hussey innings was not better because it was against a bowling attack weaker than the ones ozzies fielded today.

That was better attack Ajmal, Afridi Amir , all of them that made Pakistan win World cup in 2009

Pakistan have more off days than any other big teams so it was not unexpected for them to not click in crunch situation. Afridi and Ajmal are not consistent bowlers.

Pak fielding and Aus fielding (and bowling) are a world apart. And Aus also hold better under pressure (and Pak crumble in pressure), Aus are used to win big games. So Kohli knock edges out Hussey knock.

Australia at present is trash bowling Unit, have you seen the last 5 overs Runs given by teams , Australia is at last in this WC 10.71  Pak at 2nd 10.31

Ajmal was one the of reason for very good success of Pakistan in first 3 Wcs , Final , winner and SF , that was very good performence. Australia require 48 of 18 balls with 4 wickets remaining and Ajmal got wicket at 1st ball and Ajmal has to bowl last 2 , it was unthinkable at that time that a player like Hussey will so badly maul him .Match was over for Aus , but this match was never over for India

The incredible thing is that they were all proper cricketing shots. no hacks on the leg side. no inside edges. Briliant batting and execution. I was getting jeery in the middle thinking it would be too much but I gotta stop doubting our cricketing team man. They are damn good. Let's go India.

IMO, 3rd on the list in terms of stakes, pitch, situation, pressure, and bowling quality
1. Samuels vs. SL in WT20 2012 F
2. Hussey vs. Pak in WT20 2010 SF

I'd most definitely rate Kieswetter's innings at WT20 Finals among the bests. Chasing in Wt20 finals against the arch rivals, who are the BEST ever in the ICC tournament finalists (and you are the worst ever tournament finalists) and coming back from their incredible heist in semi finals. And Nannes and Tait were extraordinary in the opening spell and got an early wicket too. But after that he simply slayed them. For a new comer doing that o Aussies at ICC finals is really something.

Australia is over rated in T20s ,in 6 World cups they only managed to reach 1 final , Why to take their ODI record to measure T20 performence?

This is much harder. Hussey's knock needed one gigantic over that'ss it. But Kohli's knock had to go through various phases,  ticking over the innings, while managing a disabled Yuvi and running aggressive with DHoni to keep the score within touching distance and explode at the end.

It was more of a psychological thing. At that time it was just the third edition of WT20 and everyone was like it was just a matter of time they would win WT20. And no one knew they could lose an ICC tournament finals up to that point (They'd just won 2009 Champions Trophy).

And, they did an almost impossible task in the semis. So the momentum was with them and everyone was picking them to be the winner. But Kieswetter just shut them down mercilessly from the fourth over onwards.

People might tend to give more importance to the match winning innings from losing or difficult position. But the innings which never allowed the match to go out of their hand from the beginning, are no lesser.

For me it's Aaron Finch against the old enemy at Old Trafford in 2014. 88 including a massive 6 over that crappy red box thing they've got there! He also played an amazing innings in the same country the year before, but we won't mention that one!

But no, in all seriousness, when you consider the magnitude of the game, the match situation, and quality of shots played, you can't beat what Kohli did today. Incredible. Well worth recording to watch "as live" after I got back home this evening

Aus 4-1 in ODI s against India and lost 3-0 in T20s in same condition ,this shows how this format is totally different
